They can not trade the mache. If you are not going to purchase the dealer is supposed to try to cancel the order the best they can before the build. If the party involved and waits until the last minute and the dealer can not cancel, then the dealer can sell the mache as lot inventory.

The Mache does not fall under the agreement of section 3B, article 9 of dispersing of extended inventory.

my comment stated the fact on the situation. Again they are SUPPOSE to "try" to cancel. Nowhere did I say when or what time they can't. And no the mache is not to be traded. Can a dealer try to do something without the other party knowing? yeper happens every day. But I know what the ground rules are for the mache. Trying to tell ya. But sometimes people like to come up with their own way the rules should be,

I've been chasing my dealer to find out why others with higher/later reservation numbers than mine are getting their cars scheduled for production and I'm not.

The dealer contacted me today to say that Ford told them there was a shortage of extended range batteries for California and it's unlikely that my car (Premium AWD extended range) will be scheduled for production before March 2021. ☹

I'm perplexed. Does this mean there really is a shortage and Ford is trying to spread too little butter over too much bread. E.g., non domestic orders are being slotted in now and there never really was any intent for "first come, first serve"?

I can understand that Canada and Europe want their cars too, which is completely fair.

What's interesting is that my dealer says Ford has not exactly covered themselves with glory with regards to communications, nor have they been straightforward and forthcoming regarding the meaning (or more accurately not) of the reservation and ordering process. Something that's been said on this forum for months now.
Who is your dealer?

Who is your dealer?
Perry Ford Lincoln of San Luis Obispo. They are EV certified. They've always been good to me, but the Mach E processes seemed to have perplexed them. Reading between the lines, I don't think they're getting the support they need from Ford corporate.

With regards my situation and the "battery shortage" I'm pretty sure the message is getting muddled as it gets passed along.

....

I wonder how many other MME's your dealer has on order and how you were prioritized compared to others within your dealership? The costumers of dealers that certified and do not have many orders, or just one order, may be place above a costumer who ordered earlier but their dealer has 10 or so on order and their deal with ford was for 8 (just picking numbers)? It may be a dealer supply issue and Ford is just fulfilling their agreement to all dealers first? Fair to the dealers but obviously not for you :(.
When the road show visited my dealer on 10/19, they said that they had 7 other Mach E customers. I was their first reservation -- 1/8/2020. They were EV certified before then.

You are all over the place...last week you were saying that you don't mind the slow acceleration of the VW, yet now you want a Mach E GT....

Usually it is not cost effective to transfer a car outside the immediate metro area unless they are marking up over MSRP, which is unlikely to stick on the Mach E. They shouldn't have a problem selling it in Portland...there is a pretty big EV scene there....they are just setting you up to keep the $500 deposit.

I think the dealers want the inventory (at least in the larger metro areas). My dealer specifically asked me to cancel through them and not to call ford if I decided to back out, and the manager sent me an email saying that the deposit is 100% refundable even after delivery of the car to the dealership. Some of the shadier dealerships are probably going to try to keep the $500 deposit, and then sell the car at full MSRP.

nope Not true with the mache. And ford can pull vehicles anytime they like. For some reason, I know this.
Thank you Tru for trying to continue to get through to Ly, but I understand and believe you, so you do not need to continue to beat your head against that wall on my account. As others have said, "if you just ignore him maybe he will go away..."

It's legit. I have a screenshot from WBDO with the 6/24 date and my order number 0224 on it. As I recall, dealers were able to get orders in early that week with the general web-based order conversion starting about a week later (but I may recall incorrectly). My dealer swears that my reservation number correlates with the order number, but I've never seen any visual evidence of that. However, the Mach E helpline says that the two both show up under my name.

I did change my order from Extended RWD. When Ford dropped the Mach E price, I took my "savings" and opted for AWD instead. However, the 6/24 order date continues to be displayed against my order number.

Who knows. "Mango only pawn in game of life."

Did you change from White to Blue in November? Might be why.

If this was true, more than a few of Mach drop switchers would have had their original orders cancelled. Based on the comments on this forum, only a couple did. My dealer had said in writing that my original order is now his stock item. Why would he do that?
