So they give it some paint protection yet early advertising for the mach-e was how they did testing on gravel and dirt roads to make sure the paint stood up, so which is it. Good old ford marketing never fails to about turn on those early optimistic claims lol.
I'd bet my salary that the paint doesn't hold up. I love my MME but it has the softest paint I've ever had, by a mile. Every time I turn around I have a new chip out of the front of my hood that goes down to the aluminum. It's been a real problem with this car.

I’m a blue and electric/neon green guy when it comes to bright and fun colors. The Grabber Yellow might work once I see it in person because Chevy’s Shock Bolt and Camaro look pretty sweet and stand out. I realize I basically have a blend in with the crowd silver Mach-E, but Grabber blue (my wife has it) and bright crayon colors really look great on this car and its curves.
Eruption Green looks great too, but I’d have to see any of these in person. I never would’ve thought I’d go with IBSM until I saw one in person and was instantly sold.
Have I missed if the glass roof will be an option since black metal roof it standard? Maybe rolling it over as happens far too often in rally (though less likely with the massive battery weight down low and much less air time for such a heavy car) and cracking the glass is too risky.

I want a Ford-hosted Rally performance driving course offered with this like they’ve done with the ST trims of other products. To dream…

So how is Ford achieving the faster DCFC times?
It’s a valid question. Did Ford beef up the HV components to sustain more current or is this just a software revision to the existing hardware?

9 minutes improvement to the charging time to 80% is a nice leap forward but still anywhere from 10-18 minutes longer than other cars in its class.

The announcement is that to keep weight low it will not be offered with a gas roof.

The older audi etron would pull 150kw no matter what if you where in the 0 to 80% range, while the q8 version seem to have had some revisions to the curve so it tapers off near the 80% but if we are going on marketing theoretical best specs it charges faster from 10 to 80% with a larger battery pack.

While ford has made improvements to the mach-e it is far from class leading however I would say that charge time is really only half the equation as it only starts to be relevant based on how far you can actually drive for the time taken and this will have less range than an GTPE your not going to be going very far at highway speeds before you need to stop and charge.

We won't know until it comes out, but as unbridled extend needs to meet certain conditions to be active and there is not really any indication when you can / can't turn it on. Maybe now you actually get some information as to when rally sport mode can be active.

I don't like the wheels or the white accent interior, but overall, really like the new colors and rally look. Would of bought it instead of the GTPE if it was available last year.

Change in the middle part of the charge curve, I would think. The charge curve was originally super-conservative. They updated that shortly after I bought my car to increase the >80% part of the curve from ~17 KW to ~43 KW. They still have lots of room for improvement and I guess the data they have been logging shows they can be more aggressive between 20% and 80%. ??
The design of the battery pack needs modofication to enhance charging curve. Thermal limited by a plastic piece.

We probably won’t get details like that until the hit the hands of reviewers.

Just my opinion, but a Rally MachE is a stupid idea. If you roll over the car it’s probably totaled.

A better idea would be an off-road version with better suspension, more ground clearance and towing capability.
