My PAAK started getting weird a few days ago and not unlocking the car. It seems to be recognized as an ignition key though. I've tried restarting my phone, logging out of the Ford Pass App and logging back in, cycling the driver door only and all doors unlock button in the UI settings. I've found that the fob works fine. I can unlock the car inside the Ford App by holding the unlock button, but I cannot get the car to recognize my phone when I walk up to the car even when I stand there and wake the phone up and go as far as opening the app. It still won't open the car.

Any ideas here?

If it doesn't work outside, but works inside to start the vehicle, it could be an interference issue. You might be in an area with a lot of 2.4 GHz activity? That statement is assuming you do not have a fob stored anywhere inside your car.

It happened today at work in a large parking lot (no 2.4 GHz activity), at the grocery store and at home in my garage where I was trying to trouble shoot it. Everything else with the app seems to work fine.

And have you tried opening doors on the other side of the vehicle when it acts up?

Yup, tried all doors with no luck. Also tried toggling the all doors and driver door only, shutting the car off and back on. It still wouldn't open the driver door. Toggled it back to all doors and the same condition came back. Everything else works is what kills me. The fob works, the emergency door entry code works. I read somewhere to disconnect the and reconnect the battery??? I hate to go that far....

You can try removing the RFA fuse #18/19 in the passenger footwell to reboot the RFA. If that doesn't work then I'd move on to trying the negative battery terminal.

What device are you using? When you open the app at the time you can't get into the vehicle, does the dashboard say "Connected", "Connecting", or "Disconnected"?

My car is stuck on not complete 5.1.1 and since that started almost 3 weeks ago I have to hit the door button about 6 times for it to open. Before 5.1.1 was started the door worked great. I assumed it because I am stuck on the update that my door doesn't open now.

The FOB is the time tested way to open the car.
I once had the phone programmed to open the car, but there are problems with using a phone. One is the phone update could cause car problems and Ford updates could cause phone problems..... stick with the FOB.

UPDATE: It seems to be working again now. What did I do you say? Well, first, I logged out of the Ford Pass, then got in the car with an admin key fob and turned the car on (not accessory). Then I logged back into the Ford Pass while the car was on. This seemed to weirdly partially work. I set up a "MyKey" not really knowing what that would do. I also toggled the all doors and driver door unlock buttons again and also turned on the report button for auto lock function. That seemed to fix it, so I drove it like that today. It was working, but still acting goofy. When I got home, I got the admin. key back out and erased the MyKey and toggled the auto lock report back off. And, now it's working....

So, long story short, I fiddled with it FOR HOURS..... LOL

Rather odd. But, glad you got it working. Since I received my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I have deferred to setting up PaaK. And, after reading stories like this, I almost think it best to simply not set it up.

I will add, my Boss has a Tesla, and I've been in his car travelling to various destinations, many times. Honestly, not once has he had an issue with PaaK. Yes, I know it is another manufacturer. But...

Why would you not set it up? You can still use the fob but if you don’t set it up you lose some remote feature in FordPass

I understand that. Prior to upgrading my iPhone, I did have PaaK setup. However, I often felt it was a hit or a miss. So...
