So as a 2021 Owner I had the opportunity to get a 3yr sub for $600 which I declined. But while I driving I mistakenly engaged cruise and watched in amazement as Bluescruise kicked in. Previously I was told by Ford that my complimentary sub ended in Dec 2023. I never paid for the renewal, so was there an extension that I missed or something?

When you say "kicked in", do you mean it started doing handsfree?

Pictures or it didn't happen ;)

Is the car going into Blue Cruise Hands-Free? That is the part that requires subscription.

I was on the freeway, mistakenly pushed the cruise button on the steering wheel and then Bluescruise was active moments later. I didn't pay for the new subscriptions so I was wondering how I was able to activate it. It should have expired already and when I tried it in early January it didn't engage.

Was there an extension that was given due to the recall that I don't know about?

What I was asking is whether it was BlueCruise that still required your hands on the steering wheel or if it was Hands-Free BlueCruise?

BlueCruise that requires your hands on the steering wheel will not go away. Only Hands-Free BlueCruise will go away.

The original launch of BC did show confusing messaging, which has been corrected with the latest UI updates.

Originally, it would say "BlueCruise is now activated..." in a prompt on the IPC, even if you were not in a hands-free zone. What it was actually doing was hands-on lane-keep-assist, which is not part of the BlueCruise subscription, which is why the OP still has it.

Sorry, misunderstood your post. I thought that all Bluescruise was gone. I wasn't aware there was a difference between hands-on and hand-off Bluescruise. The button triggered Bluescruise and once it initiated I took my hands-off and it proceeded to steer my car.

I'm still not sure if you are understanding the difference. Does your whole screen in front of you change color and show an icon saying "Hands Free"?

Yeah if the dash doesn't say "Hands Free" you don't have BC.

I also have a CR1 and declined to pay for BC. Even though, when you turn on cruise, you still get the BC popup warning you about things I don't see hands free...I remain in blue bubble mode (which is hands on).

Note that in blue bubble mode you can briefly remove your hands and the car will steer but will ask you to grab the wheel again after a few seconds.
