Wait, the EU model doesn’t have a heated windshield? I swear my US MME has a heated windshield.

I’ll trade my heated windshield for your active matrix headlights ?
Euro spec GT (GTPE). I have both heated front window AND matrix headlights.

I'd love something like this! The cold range killer is dire. Turns my 290 range to 160 in the current Michigan cold!

My UK model MME has the heated windscreen and it functions really efficiently - I wouldn’t be without it.

I frequently drive in the UK and find the heated windscreens to be an outstanding feature. I can only guess that they are not installed on US cars has to do with the North American insurance lobby that doesn't want to deal with the added cost of replacing them.

I don't recall - does the heated windscreen also minimize\reduce fogging of the interior of the glass? One of my biggest complaints with the MME in cold conditions is the annoying way the windshield defrost function draws in cold air to clear the interior fogging. When it is below zero, the defrost function immediately lowers the overall interior cabin temperature and offsets all the kw that were used to heat it up in the first place.

FORD. North America wants the heated windshield on our cars!!

**I’ve added and edit to my original post** I think that the Mach-E conditioning strategy for the battery needs reform as well. Ford needs to implement the option to allow the vehicle to dynamically heat/cool the battery in extreme heat or cold to maintain optimal battery health and capacity. They need to do more for maintaining battery heat in winter while driving and warming the pack when in an unplugged remote start state.

That's like the way the old VW Beetles used to work. There was no fan in bugs at least as late as 1970 (my mom had one). The air flowed up the windshield from the outside with minimal heating. The heat was drawn off of the air cooled engine in the back somehow and there wasn't much heat at all. Usually, if the inside glass had much condensation, you had to open the side vent windows to direct outside air over the inside of the windshield while driving to clear the fogging. It made driving in cold conditions very uncomfortable. It had great traction in the snow, though -- skinny tires and all the weight in the back on the drive wheels.

Yes, I've used those type heaters for prewarming my ICE vehicle cabin here, but without a 120v outlet in the cabin (like the Lightning has) this won't help while driving.

You'd need either a very long, retractible extension cord, or these...

You wouldn't be able to pass the electric trolley in front of you though!

Awesome! The caution statements are rather interesting. It obviously was a little gasoline burner under the frunk. Can you imagine such a contraption in this day and age? Our bug didn't have the auxiliary heater.

Yep, and that '72 of mine had 5 spark plugs!

Imagine the looks and questions when you pull up to a gas pump and put a gallon of gas into a custom tank in your frunk? "But I thought those cars were electric??"...
