Has anyone else run into this issue? This is the first time I’ve used FORScan and everything I try to connect, I get an error saying that it’s not able to identify the vehicle.

I’m using a recommended OBD adapter that is listing on the FORScan site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I’m using the one that’s in the site - v2.3.57

I’ve been trying to find a watch to contact the admins too but no luck

There is likely something new/different about your MME. Send a copy of FORScan.log and dump.bin from your %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\FORScan\log folder, along with a problem description, to [email protected].

Did you ever get this resolved? I have 2023.5 GT and have the same connection issue. Had no problem connecting to our 2022 Premium.

I contacted Forscan ([email protected]). Below is the email I sent to them. Also sent my VIN and a screenshot of the error message in Forscan.
They added my VIN to the database and sent a link to download a new .exe file to install. It took a couple days.

Email I sent:

I downloaded and installed the latest version from the website (FORScan for Windows v2.3.57) and got the 2-month extended license. I am using the recommended OBDLink EX OBD adapter.

Everytime I try to connect to the vehicle, I get a message saying the it is 'Unable to identify the vehicle' and asks to enter a strategy/calibration name or part number. I've attached a picture.

Could you please help troubleshoot this issue, so that I can use FORScan?

Hope this helps

Thanks that is helpful! I will be sad if I can't use forscan as I need to disable the backup beeping.

You can't disable the backup beeping via FORScan. That can only be done through hardware.

I've already done it on my 22 Premium. You disable it in FORScan and then you also have to unplug the speaker wire in the trunk. This also disables the pedestrian alert sound since that comes from same speaker.

I stand corrected.

Well I contacted the FORScan team and they fixed the issue right away. They said there was a typo in their database for GT 2023 models that prevented it from being recognized. They sent me an updated version of FORScan and it worked ... connected to my car right away.

Pedestrian alert sounds and the back up beeping are no more!

Out of curiosity, why disable those sounds? Are you trying to mow people down? I'm half kidding but am curious.

Not everyone wants to wake their entire cul-de-sac up when they go to work at 530am with the melody of a garbage truck in reverse.

I don't mind the forward pedestrian alert sound, but the reverse beeping is obnoxious. It's even better (worse) when the wife and I swap cars in the driveway ("bong-bong, bong-bong, bong-bong....").

As for the need, there's dozens or ICE vehicles which are also nearly silent and there doesn't seem to be an epidemic of blind people being backed over. It's just another contributing reason to why cars are $50k now.

Gotcha, thanks for the reply. I really was just curious, as I’ve never found the back up sound to be particularly loud or annoying. Also, I have young children and anything that prevents a tragedy from happening is OK in my book. I’ve noticed that our brand new ICE vehicle also makes a back up noise.
