@Ford - My rear hatch is leaking water again!

Hi. ‘23 GTPE. Took the car in for the TSB which solved it for a few weeks. I had my doubts that the “add sealant” fix would hold, but I was hopeful. Yesterday I opened the trunk and I saw more water than I ever expected, while it flowed out of the handle on the right side , small amounts came out of the center latch, and the right side as well!

my understanding is that prior to the TSB, some cars had been successfully diagnosed related to the rear wing/spoiler and poor QC (missing screws and washers). Regardless of cause, please help me get this fixed once and for all.

That appears to be the exterior section of the hatch, not the interior. Is it leaking inside?

That‘s fine if it’s outside the weather seal.

To be clear. Water should not be leaking out of the handle and soaking people as they take things out of the trunk.

It's fine - it's all exterior water - outside the seal.

If the water was leaking INSIDE the trunk, then you have a valid complaint.

Outside the weather seal, it's normal for water to drip after opening.

Haven't you ever washed your car before ?

Try putting on a rain hat or use an umbrella to not get any drips on your head....

Are your taillights loose? Prior models had a tsb for that. I assume they fixed but never know

Sorry. It’s not clear that you actually read my post. It is not normal for water to come flowing out of the handle of the trunk.

If they sealed the taillights, it's possible you have another leak source such as around the rear glass seal or through the holes for the spoiler clips that are further up. Best way is to take the covers off on the inside, put a technician in the trunk with a flashlight and mirror, and run it through a high pressure carwash.

Agreed. I have scheduled an appt. Sadly it is 4 weeks out.
