I tried to trade my 23 Select AWD MME in on a 2023 GT. The dealer "generously" offered me $22K for my car. So I decided to upgrade my current MME and keep it until it dies. My first upgrade plan is a powered liftgate. My next upgrade on the wish list is a memory function for the driver's seat. Has anyone installed the Autoease version of the powered liftgate? If so, are you happy with the purchase and function?

Are you doing it yourself. If so I have some tips for you. I finished installing mine yesterday.

I am having an installer do it. I am in the Dallas area. They quoted 4 hours of labor.
I watched a video of the hands free installation - I don’t think I can do it ?

Smart decision. 4 hours was about how long it took me to route the wires through those top grommets. :crying:

@LeanneL It really took me about 2 hours. I had to run the tailgate and the hands free module wiring through those grommets from hell. ? The method involves cutting off the wire connectors, because it is impossible to pass the wires through the grommets with them attached. Once the wires are through the grommets you have to reattach the connectors to the wires. Very time consuming. But my wife loves the auto lift tailgate so it was worth it.

Help me out with this because maybe it's me not understanding when you say Auto ease. I was under the impression that that was for people that didn't have the auto lift on their rear hatch and that you may actually be looking for this foot sensor to auto open without hands. If this is what you're looking for well I can help you out with both items. EV-Vida they offer both parts with reasonable prices. You can either install them yourself which he has videos on doing so or you can take it to someone and they're going to charge you out the butt to install them for you

Ron did you read post #6? I installed the auto lift kit and the hands free module on my 23 Select MME. I purchase it from EV-Vida although it comes form Autoease. It is not a job for the less adventuresome (see the attached photo). The installation was physically difficult and the instructions were wrong. However, Simon from EV-Vida spent a considerable amount of time helping me sort out the correct installation procedure. So the customer service outweighed the negatives. The liftgate and hands free module are working great and I glad i installed both.

I watched this video a few times when I installed my kit from EV VIDA. It's not something I want to do more than once. I didn't take any pictures but I don't remember removing that white box that all of your wires are going into. I don't believe I did it exactly like the video but it's reliable once you know where to target your foot.

I assume your MME already had the automatic liftgate from the factory, correct? Installing only the hands free module wouldn't involve the white box, which comes with the auto lift tailgate kit from Autoease/EV-Vida. Just FYI for others that might be considering the auto liftgate and or the hands free module installation.

WSUP Norm - I agree, it’s not a weekend project. It’s more like a week because certain areas take more time. However, once it’s installed, it’s absolutely worth it.

I'm kind of curious, if you wanted a power liftgate, why didn't you buy a model with one already installed? I installed the kick to open in my premium because our previous car had it and my wife wanted it installed since it is no longer available from Ford.

Because u. Bought what I bought and it didn’t have auto liftgate. The dealer only had a few in stock and I really liked the color. Dealer had a bunch on order but no eta for delivery. Plus the ones listed with it were about 3-6 thousand more. Not to mention the 3.9% interest rate I got

Ok, it sounds like you've got a weekend project coming up.
