I have a 2021 Mach E and I must have spent over $1,000 on tape trying to keep the truck cover in place.
Any better ideas?

Why doesn't it stay in place? Mine just clips in, never had issues. Is this a 2021 problem?

I think so. I’ve only heard this from 21 owners. Mine clips in so tight I’m afraid I’ll break it when I’m pulling it out.

We had a 2021 and could not keep it in place. Ultimately, we just removed it so that it wouldn't be a problem. We now have a 2023 and don't have any issue with the cover.

I have a '23 GT and one started unclipping after a month. I use rubber bands but may look into the clips.

We just had our 2021 in for the Battery contactor recall. I mentioned the problems with the trunk cover and they replaced it, much better now. The car was still under warranty

Mine used to stay tight. After a few years of wear, the plastic has worn a few thousandths of an inch, leading to the pegs popping out of their cradles much more easily. It will become a 2022 problem, then a 2023 problem, then a 2024 problem, etc. ??

I watched a YouTube video a couple of years ago where a guy recommended using rubber o-rings to hold it.

Edit:

I never tried it myself but I almost did recently. I never had the problem until a few months ago. I took a closer look and realized I had installed the cover upside down at some point. For some reason it won't stay in as well when it's upside down. You know it's the connect orientation when the tag is down.

I have a 2021 GT and the only time I have a problem is when I put a tall box in the back and it unclips the cover. It clips right back on and stays in place.

Interesting. My 21 definitely has this problem. Someone else posted a solution that I think involved a black O-ring.
