I have the Thule Evo. No scratching, but yes, some rubbing. I haven't tried to polish it off or anything, it is not noticeable until you take the bar off, and barely even then.

I am not particular about body finishes, but I am about noise. I find the Evo noisy. It doesn't bother my wife, but it does me. Anyone else experience this?

Do you have the WingBar Evo, like this one, or the square one? I've heard that the square one is noisy.

I’ve years of experience with Thule racks and you must be SURE during every install to clean both the pads and where they contact roof. I now have the rack and it looks like it fits both glass and metal Mach E roof. I will be taking the rack off/on as I did with my previous vehicle which had no signs of wear since I was fastidious about cleaning the contact areas every time.

Are you using a Thule fairing attached to the front bar? I've only previously had square bars and the fairing reduced the wind noise for those bars by a great amount.

I have kayak I need to move around, but I've decided to move away from a roof rack and do something else.

Before I get off my hind legs on the subject of roof racks….Keep in mind the weight load limit from Thule is @ 110 lbs and please factor in the weight of not just the cargo but the toy carrier you are mounting. The crossbar spacing isn’t great for longer kayaks, canoes or SUP so always employ at the very least front tie downs. I haven’t tried them yet in my frunk but will soon and have loved the hood loop devices that keep you from crawling under the car to find a place to tie off. Plus you don’t want a rope rubbing across your hood (shudder). These are an example and there is no stainless steel in these as the Amazon copy states.

Its true the Thule rack package can handle 220 but only on certain vehicle

Yes but….don’t exceed total weight of 110 lbs. While the Thule rack system is rated to carry up to 220, that is only on select vehicles and not the Mach E roofline. They give a max load rating for each vehicle.While Thule is generally conservative on each vehicle’s max weight load limit it’s wise not to color outside the lines. So the appropriate sized cargo box and luggage should be ok. No anvils or concrete blocks!

I'm so glad I happened across this thread. We were looking at getting roof racks for an upcoming move and decided to see if anyone on here had used the Thule racks. On Thule's website it was going to cost about $750 after taxes, but with the 25% discount and some FordPass points the same equipment came in under $585!
