Let’s hope more will appear in round 2. I am a bit surprised by how much money is going into each site though. Who would have figured over 500k.

I wish I knew about this site sooner. I hope they are considering installing these chargers in a drive thru format rather than a parking space format

The new Kwik Trip EV charging station in New Salem (from Plugshare again) which is off I-90 near the Minnesota border. Again we have the pull thru type of station layout.

I don’t understand this charging setup. How are you supposed to 4 cars at those stations.

Is it because each unit can only charge one car even though it has two cords - like the EA units? There’s actually four cabinets there if you look close - two more in the background.

There are 4 cabinets there; front and back. One car pulls in on one side, the other pulls in on the other. Another pair is behind the truck.

Just a further update on Kwik Trip EV chargers In Wisconsin. Menominee and Chippewa Falls sites are now open. Charge stations have CCS1 connector on one side and NACS connector on the other side. Reported to charge at up to 195 kw rate, Rivian and to 150 minimum in any position. Long hoses support using either connector from any position. West Salem site even has covered sites just like gas pumps have…just what is needed for northern sites!

Some of these "Phase 1" stations have had zero done in the past 20 months. Mercer, WI on hwy 51 is one of them. About 20 miles south a new Kwik Trip location has been identified for a new installation. I bet Kwik Trip opens before the Shell/Family Market in Mercer.

In the northern portion of Wisconsin there are some real duds with this nevi program: Stowes Family Market at Mercer Rt51 about 18 miles south of Ironwood, Michigan--Korner Stores Minong rt 53 and Korner Store Armstrong Creek rt 8 have shown zero progress in the past 18 months. There is a large "hole" for DCFC charging north of WI 70, west of WI 13 and south of WI 2. Essentially the northwest portion of the state including Hayward which has a large tourism attraction.
