Just doing a positive pile on to say this is also the best upgrade I’ve done.

While it cannot accommodate at the same time two Max size iPhones with cases (due to size limitation of the original console shape), the Magsafe pucks hold a phone snug on one side and my AirPods Pro on the other.

Some had a recall, maybe not officially called recall, and was provided an updated version I saw no difference. Ford blamed the phone manufacturer and Apple/Verizon said it’s ford
It’s a bit of both. The car was designed (more or less) before MagSafe for the iPhone 12 was introduced. I’ve been told that Apple declined to give Ford advance notice of the upcoming changes. No clue if that’s true or not.

I got mine and it is far and away better than what’s already in the car. Plus the wife is happy she has her own spot to charge from. Fits like a glove And super easy install.

I love them so far, I have an iPhone 15pro max and iPhone 14 for work and both fit nice.. on top of that the best feature is that they don’t move around while I drive and they don’t get smoking hot either..

Alright guys, first let me start by saying these @twraps MagSafe chargers went into both my Stangs and it works as promised! So much better than the crappy wireless chargers that come with the car… my only question is do any of you know how to turn off the wireless charger from the car to not waste the extra energy?

One question I have is can you just set the phone on there without a case? for instance the case I actually have on my phone is a complete metal case. It charges fine on the stock charging tray but the phone does get hot. Or does the case actually have to be MagSafe?

Has anyone received the "Free Replacement one from Ford" for completeing their HVJB Recall? Don't want to spend the $ if Ford's new one will be better. The originals just "Cook" my phone, to the point that the phone shuts down so it won't play on Sync, if left on the charger for more than 40 min.

If the replacements don't work I can do TWRAPS
Yes, it's just a replacement rubber mat. I'm not sure what I was expecting.... Actual electronics with improved Qi performance? This is not that.

I had bought an aftermarket mat because my Pixel 7/8 Pros did not fit neatly in the partitions of the original 2021 mat.

This one has a ridge about an inch from the near edge. It's unclear to me whether one should place the phone above it so it's flat to the mat but further forward in the mat? My Pixel 8 Pro doesn't fit quite right in that position. Maybe you're supposed to place the phone on the ridge, so it's not quite flat to the mat and there's some airflow? I returned my Mach E at the end of my Options without ever really trying it out.

Ford Mustang Mach-E TWRAPS MagSafe Chargers for the win!! 1720756173378-y4

No wireless charger will ever compete with MagSafe. MagSafe ensures that your phone lines up perfectly for optimal efficiency. That same mechanism also makes it the best choice for keeping your phone in place while driving that a standard wireless charger just will never be able to pull off.

TL;DR even if ford gave you the best possible standard QI charger, this one will work better

I think OP is asking to disable the factory wireless charger that sits under the TWRAPS pad - OP, I don't think that's necessary; I doubt the factory charger is drawing any significant energy if it's not actively charging a device, which it would not be sitting under the TWRAPS pad.

I love the TWRAPS pad, my only issue is that because Ford's USB-C port is underpowered, the TWRAPS doesn't have enough juice to charge very fast - it can barely keep my phone's battery steady if I am using wireless CP, navigation, and streaming music.

Pull up the rubber mat, then pull up the whole wireless charger assembly (it's shaped like a box). Under is a connector - just disconnect that. I did that a long time ago so I could put my phone there without it catching on fire.

I don't think that's a fault of the USB-C port. My understanding is that the real limitation is the Qi standard only allowing 7.5 watts. That USB-C port can easily provide _much_ more wattage. I believe it's limited to something like 20A@12V...

If you plug your phone directly into that USB-C port, I suspect it wouldn't have any issue charging your phone.

If you do this, please take some photos so folks know how easy it is. I took some, but it was so long ago, I can't find them right now.
