Last night I was driving home. Using 1 peddle driving. A car in front of me suddenly stopped. I slammed on my brakes. The car stopped and just as I was exhaling a sigh of relief it started beeping and some type of warnings started flashing on dash. The car then lunged forward and hit the car in front of me. I was so confused. Initially thought someone had rear ended me and pushed me into the vehicle in front of me. Could not understand why I was moving.
Going to dealership hoping they will pull data no damage to other car. But mine has broken headlight, panel and hood damage. Is there anyway to get the vehicle data. Seriously scary

Sounds like you may have hit Resume on the steering wheel. Yes, the vehicle data can be pulled with the right equipment.

how does the car "lunge" if your foot is on the brake? is that even possible?
edit, I now see RickMachE's response which seems likely if your foot was not on the brake..

People who drive with 1 pedal need to get it through their heads that when stopped, they should have their foot on the brake pedal.

I wasn’t using blue cruise. This was on a surface street. Was going through an intersection, and the driver in front of me stopped, because the car in front of her was making an illegal left hand turn into a fast food restaurant. The car in front remained at a complete stop. If I had of accidentally hit the adaptive cruise control button would it engage with a stopped car in front of me?

Will the dealership be able to pull data? Wish I had not moved the car. But my rear was in the intersection still.
While waiting on police I sent ford a feedback message.

Adding a picture of vehicle that was stopped in front of me after accident. Wasn’t at any speed.
Thanks for the feedback I have so much faith that electric cars are safer than ICE’s. I am really trying to figure out what happened.

Respectfully, I did use the brake to stop. I really am just trying to figure out what went wrong.

Wouldn't the crash avoidance system prevent the car from hitting the car ahead? Mine freaks out if I'm anywhere near the car ahead of me. Can you turn this off?

Did you see this?

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...-message-p0c2f-92-stored-in-the-sobdmc.35392/

There was a much older recall regarding mismatch firmware that caused Mach-Es to lunge forward at a stop but that's been long resolved.

Thanks I am really trying to figure out what happened. Wandering if it is possible for one peddle to disengage after hard breaking.
But still doesn’t make sense why it would give the delayed warnings after I had already brought car to a stop using the brake, why would it move when the car in front of me was still completely stopped.
I swear I didn’t even want to post in here because I know it’s usually a matter of driver error. I’m ok being wrong but I more importantly I want to figure out what happened. Can the dealership pull data?

Not what I said. After you were at a full stop, was you foot firmly pressing the brake pedal when the car lunged? Or, had you taken your foot off the pedal, and relying on 1-pedal mode?

No, it wouldn't. From the manual: "The system is active at speeds above 3mph".

Ok sorry misunderstood your comment. Since I always drive in one peddle mode that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Did I release the brake relying on car to keep it stopped. Why would it lunge forward after being at a complete stop? It has never just took off like that.
Thanks for your feedback. My main question is still unanswered. Can the dealership pull the data? Should I call someone at Ford directly?

And if you have Auto Hold enabled then it should remain stopped after that engages even if you lift your foot off the brake pedal.

I have wished that Auto Hold would engage if your vehicle comes to a complete stop with 1-pedal and BlueCruise isn't in Auto Resume.

I'm genuinely curious (not being a smart ass)

Why? That's not in any instructions provided by the car. The car is expected to stay stopped with one pedal engaged and not pushing the accelerator. You can even put the car in park without pressing the brake as the car is braking for you already.

What benefit is using two pedals while already stopped when using one pedal mode?

I only apply the brake pedal in 1 Pedal mode if I’m stopped at a crosswalk and people are crossing - just for piece of mind!

The only time my car lunges forward in 1 Pedal at a stop is when I have accidentally hit the cruise control button on the steering wheel with my watch band. Never has lunged with my foot on the brake though.
