22' awd prem, got mine today. About 45 mine. Only thing I noticed I don't like is the turn signal does not turn off once lane change completed. But I guess it makes since.

I just took my 23 for a long ride, the predictive speed is a nice feature but can be unpredictable! It still needs work. The lane centering/hands free on my 21 worked well, now the 23 lane centering/hand free is unstable and is very notchy going around turns and gets worse above 70mph, 75mph was very bad to the point of not usable.

My non-EA 2022 MME was updated last night, and coincidentally I had about 4 hours of highway driving today so I had the opportunity to test it out pretty well. My observations:

Overall the system finally seems to work as originally advertised. Lane centering is much better than before. It no longer "hugs" the right side of the lane, and ping-ponging is almost entirely eliminated. It sometimes does still swing toward the right side of the lane when first activated, but seems less scary/abrupt than before.

The automatic lane changing is nice and works pretty smoothly, but it's not really valuable to me. In fact, I find it a bit too slow to initiate the lane change after tapping the blinker. I also don't like that there's now an audible "ding" when I manually change a lane. Yes car, I know I'm canceling BC to change a lane like I've done a millions times before without the audible alert.

I like the updates to the IPC. They're subtle but nice IMHO. You can see when the car is shifting toward the left side of the lane to provide a little more space when you're passing a car to the right of you. The lane change graphics are also pretty slick.

Question: what are the new gray arrows pointing right/left next to the car on the IPC? I'm sure they have something to do with lane changing, but they never seem to change and I'm not sure what they're telling me.

Also, I noticed that auto lane changing even works during "hands-on" bluecruise (the mode with the bubble around the car). It makes me wonder if this feature will work even without a bluecruise subscription.

Speaking of subscriptions, while I think this a really nice improvement, there's still just no way I'd pay $800/year for it. Please Ford, do the ethical thing and honor the price that was advertised when we bought the car (in my case, $200/year). This bait-and-switch is just an bad thing to do to your customers.

That’s when the car believes it can perform a lane change at all. If you drive in congested traffic you’ll see it disappearing.

I kind of wondered that. But wouldn't you expect the left arrow to disappear when you're in the left-most lane (for example)? That didn't happen for me.

Did 1.3 remove the option for on the high way with sign recognition to stay at a set speed over the speed limit? Or is it under a diff menu.

Looks like it failed for me as well (‘22 non-EA). What’s strange is that I got a failure notification in the app at like 6pm, well outside my overnight install window. Given that the “update now” button is greyed out, I guess the download itself failed, and I’ll just have to wait for them to push it again :( @rugedraw, may send you my VIN, see if you can tell me what happened…

What I'm curious about now is what is on Ford's roadmap for future updates for this car?

I was also very concerned how the lane changes worked, and how safe they were. (snip-edited)
  • Regular, open lane changes were very smooth and reliable.
  • It illegally crossed a double white line into the HOV lane, but it wouldn't cross a yellow line
Technically, it didn't do anything illegal. It wouldn't even attempt to make the lane change unless you send the command to do so. It's just following orders.

Your honor, it's not my fault. I plead innocent to this traffic ticket because I expect Bluecruise to know better than to do what I asked it to do.

Tongue in cheak to make a point. ?
