PAAK had been working fine til yesterday.

The problem occurred immediately after the new Easy Entry upgrade, although I don't know if that's a cause or a coincidence.

Now, no key detected when using phone. I need to use the physical keys

Looking at my Iphone's bluetooth menu, I see two bluetooth connections to the car, as always. One is "Mustang Mach E", which is connected normally, works.

The second one, which I understand is associated with PAAK is 15xxx MACH E. This once keeps bouncing back and forth between the My Devices (connected) and Other devices (trying to connect) area. The PAAK no longer works.

I tried resetting Sync, my Iphone, and I deleted and reloaded Ford Pass, no joy

Anyone seen anything like this? Any ideas?

Delete FordPass and both bluetooth connections before retrying. Reboot your phone afterwards.

Also make sure you're setting up PAAK outside in an area with AT&T cellular coverage or it might not work.

I also had this happen yesterday after the flurry of OTA updates. I can start climate control and lock/unlock the car remotely but no key found when trying to start it. I haven’t reset my PAAK but at this point don’t trust it anymore and will just carry a key so it doesn’t matter.

Probably unrelated but can no longer pop the frunk from the app (just errors out) or the Sync screen (grayed out), as well. So, I need to do it manually.

Also fell victim to the lockout bug so not a good week for the 23 GTPE.

This was essentially the advice given to me by the BEV person at ford who i had a call with.

I think they also suggested disabling wifi on my phone, and being somewhere that my cell phone has good cell reception. It could also be that pairing away from your home wifi is better, especially if you have configured your car to use your home wifi. Something about a timing issue when the phone or car is switching networks being interpreted as a persistent network error, instead of being retried. It should work on wifi, but she suggested if i had problems to simplify to cell only.

Only after all that failed, clear the keys from the car using the reset menu in the car. Not a full factory reset, just a key reset. Then everyone who has paak on that car will need to go through the setup dance, so more of a last resort.

another fabulous OTA 'side effect' from an update

.... makes me SOOOO glad I turned off auto-update 18 months ago.

are you listening @Ford Motor Company ? Please pass along that the software release/update process is perceived as 'untrustworthy' and creating a lot of customer problems instead of enhancements.

I did delete Fordpass, and also the "Mustang Mach-E" bluetooth connection that I understand is related to entertainment.

I don't see a way to delete the "15xxx MACH-E" connection. It comes and goes as it pleases (Iphone)

The only way I've found to make it disappear is to go to the privacy settings and disable bluetooth for FordPass

This has happened to me twice lately. I've already reset everything a couple of weeks ago. I found that if I turn on airplane mode for a minute or so and then back off, it works again. Easier than resetting everything which is a pain. Not trusting PAAK much any more. I keep the fob with the battery out in the car if needed.

I mean… pretty sure if Ford is aware of any customer frustrations, it’s this.

I would hope so.

BUT, it seems like we have to beat that dead horse as many times as possible before @Ford Motor Company acknowledges an issue is real and supported by a number of Owners.

So, go back up and at least 'like' my post if you agree so that they get a count of people that agree strongly

Seeing the PaaK Bluetooth bond appear and disappear is normal. This just means that your phone has removed the vehicle but the vehicle still has your key and is trying to connect to your phone. You need to remove the key in Ford Pass or PaaK reset. Then try to setup again.

Remeber to leave your window open in garage. This "Easy Entry upgrade" seems to be the reason of 23s' lockout.
