Enable Advanced Park Assist in a MME with Active Park Assist 2.0 Prep Kit

Hi everyone:

I have a 2022 MME and it didn't come with Advanced Park Assist. I don't have that option because Ford had a parts supply problem. There has been talk that it's possible to "upgrade" the car to have this assistant. I understand that the IPMA module in the car must be updated or changed.

I wanted to ask if anyone has been able to activate it and what steps or parts are necessary.

I think is about IPMA module. If you see Ford Microcat (spare parts) you can see that this season of cars have IPMA version different from 2021 and 2023 so I think It is to change IPMA board.

I don't think It was about just sw, It's about hardware (and sw required).

On the other hand, BlueCruise is so inside IPMA so both questions are inside this board.

I though to get a IPMA 2023 car to fit in my car to get this functions. Sensors and wiring are fitted. So 4 lateral sensor don't make any function.....

Anybody has swap old IPMA to 2023 IPMA with Park Assis and BlueCruise?.

In file attached you can see all versions of IPMA modules. I guess from 11/4/2022 to 4/11/2022 Park Assist is not available in these boards.

I believe this is the module that is needed but pricey if it doesn't work..

It's not worth it. You can park the vehicle yourself faster and easier. Trying to get your car to recognize a parking spot when there are other cars behind you is annoying.

My 2023 MME GT PE purchased new in New Zealand in October 2024 has Auto Park. It has 6 sensors at the front and 6 sensors at the back

My ‘21 Premium has park assist. I’ve never used it. It’s not a necessary feature.

As I already mentioned, MMEs from April to October 2022 do NOT have Park Assist, since the IPMA module does not have the chip that performs this function.

Ford promised users to release a Kit to provide this feature.

Why don't they release it? Nobody complains?

I understand that it is changing the IPMA module, but why don't you give the option to customers?

I went to use it yesterday, in traffic, when i dropped my bubble tea cup on the console and it turned on. Along with the hazard flashers

We should still be able to add this back in with the same parts the 2021s had. @Ford Motor Company let us know the part numbers needed!
