I was just trying to find some logic besides manpower shortages (which there is an extreme overabundance of) for the shipments to be dead in the water at that point.

I recall originally (last March?) the sales sides were not essential while parts and service were. That was the case out here as well. No longer the case here either.

Well. manpower and equipment issues most likely I'd guess then.
The dealer suggested it might be an issue with the cars that was caught before OKTB.

Many dealers are passing on information based on past practices and not necessarily what is accurate in this new reality of ours. It may not be a fib at all, just they either don't know or haven't informed themselves. From what I gathered, much of OKTB hold-up was ensuring that all the vehicles met the quality standards including the software/OS. Those issues were dealt with prior to OKTB.

Honestly though, I'd expect the problem to be the one Ford has experienced since prior to OKTB: manpower shortages and equipment shortages. (Autracks have been in short supply for many years. Manpower is severely affected due to the pandemic and pandemic related issues)

FWIW there do seem to be at least a few dealer stock (I guess FCTP) shipping. I am watching a Premium E4X that is dealer stock to Hertrich Ford of Easton apparently built 12/17, shipped 12/31, and with an ETA of 2/1. It happens to be same color/interior as I have on order (built 1/8 - no ETA yet) except for the extended battery. Considering if it might be possible to get that one instead. My own dealer's (Bob Davidson Ford of Baltimore) FCTP was built 11/3 and has no ETA so no obvious (to me) rhyme or reason to what ships quickly and what sits at the pant.
Yeah, it is a bit of a guessing game at times. Some of those demos in transit might have just been in the way and there was space on the train and the destination code fit so just load it up and kick it on down the line.

My understanding of this is that they want the auto-rack cars and car carriers to be "full" as they head to their destinations. This means they load as many retail orders as they can ... and then they'll have a few slots leftover. Those slots get filled with FCTP cars.

So FCTP cars don't get priority ... but they do get loaded into wherever there is extra space.

I agree, I was unnecessarily rude. It stems from frustration that the same point has been made a dozen times in the last week, yet people who've had accounts here long enough to have read it haven't bothered to do so. This is a discussion forum, not Ford's customer support site. There are plenty of thread titles that are an obvious place to look for the information rather than spreading incorrect information/conclusions or lazily asking the same question.

Nonetheless, I apologize for letting that frustration spill over into rudeness
I feel your pain though. People are lazy to not read what has been asked and answered several times. They jump to dumb ass conclusions without any basis in fact and then spread it on here for other people to read. I honestly don't think you were being rude, you just asked a question. A question. Other people ask questions on here, why would you not be allowed to? The cars being are being shipped. There are shipping delays and logistical issues because of COVID, just like every other product in the world right now. I have heard that there are cargo containers of items backlogged in ports all over the country that will take 6+ weeks to sort out. That isn't even including containers that continue to arrive.

Are the sales divisions of dealerships considered "essential businesses" under the various quarantine orders? and is your dealership in a county where that might matter?
Auto dealers are Ok to open in CA - in SoCal they are all open - receiving cars - my Bronco SPort got delivered last week to the dealer and people were test driving it

Mine made it to Kansas City, MO yesterday afternoon (January 11th). We'll see how long it takes to make it to metro Detroit. ETA is Jan 13-19.
Who is your dealership? I was just at Russ Milne, sales manager was able to verify mine has been built and is sitting at the assembly plant. No ETA or any further info on shipping. Verified build date was 1/8. Not real sure what is going on with shipping, or why Ford is not pushing to get them on the road as quick as possible.

Does Ford have all the gov paper work done so they can deliver Mach e to the public? For $1000.00 del. charge I would expect better than trains. You would think Ford would pay more attention to cash flow.

Suburban of Sterling Heights. Even though Milne and Dorian are closer to me I like dealing with Suburban, I like the sales guy there, we've bought 3 vehicles through him. But I did I buy my first Ford through Milne, they were nice too.

Apparently my Mach-E is in that batch in Kansas City from the other thread. I see that it was picked up by the trucking company at about 10:30 this morning from KC (probably taken to another train but no further updates yet).
