I live in north Alabama so heavy rain and hydroplaning are my weather issues. In 2018 I put a set of the weatherreadys on my Explorer and at 55K replaced with the ComfortDrive. Don’t know what change the “2” offers but the weatherReady was fantastic in every area except a definite hit to gas mileage. Several cross country trips before them my Explorer averaged 23mpg and 20mpg on the highway after but worth it for me. I switched to comfortDrive keeping the rain portion with a quieter and arguably softer riding tire but no improvement in gas mileage. I would think if the weatherready 2 had lower rolling resistance they would advertise that ?‍♂

I had the Weatherready2 on my 2014 Volt (traded that in for the Mach E) and also on my daughters 2014 Volt. I thought these tires provided a very comfortable ride on the Volt (it was smoother than the Mach E with stock tires). I'm debating on these tires or the Michelin CC2. My other daughter has the CC2 on her 2013 Subaru Legacy and the son in laws 2015 Subaru Forester. I'll have to check with them for a review.

We have the CC2 on two vehicles - Mach e GT and X5 - and they are wonderful. Previously had the original weatheready on the X5 and switched to the CC2.

The WR2’s look like a slightly more siped CC2, so maybe try them and see what happens?!? ?

The weather ready is about 20% less traction in the wet than the CC2. The new WR2 should be better.

Typically the Michelin CC2, Vredetein Quatrac Pro+ and Pirelli weatheractive are considered to be best in the all weather segment.

I run the Quatrac Pro+ in the winter for the past 6 years they are a perfect match for the MME. Quiet, smooth, efficient, and traction traction traction. Also they are not directional so you can rotate properly something you can't do with the directional tires.

I'm trying to decide between these and the ElectricDrive 2 tires. I had the OG WeatherReady tires on our '18 Bolt, and they were very solid. Range took a hit, but barely noticeable in day-to-day driving.

I get the friends and family discount (most of the time), so I'd like to go Goodyear now that they have something to offer in our size other than the crappy Eagle RS All-Seasons.

I've always had good results with Goodyear. I put a set on last month and there are good things and not so good.
1) They are quieter than the OEM tires
2) The ride seems better
Negatives:
1) I think it ping pongs more with Blue Cruise
2) My miles/kw has tanked by about 10% which means 10% higher charging costs.

I may ask Goodyear to take them back, but I doubt they will.

When it comes time, I'll be getting RFT due to the lack of a spare tire....

I have seen several posts from Forum members that have bought the Bridgestone driveguard. It didn't surprise me that they make the mme drive like a lumber wagon but what did surprise me is reports of a 20% drop in efficiency likely because of how stiff the tires are to support zero pressure driving

I'm not a fan of run flat tires you give up way too much

Agree about range loss, but not 20%.

My wife's PHEV has the Bridgestone DriveGuards and it only has a 8% range loss.

Better to have RFT (not have to pull over) and drive to safe location IMO....

And the ride is very comparable to conventional tires - they are not like the 1990's RFT first gens that rode like Fred Flinstone days...
