I’ve been experiencing an issue with my car recently. There’s a crank noise coming from the driver door whenever I open or close it. The sound is quite noticeable, and it seems to be getting worse over time.

I’ve attached a video to give you a better idea of the noise. Has anyone dealt with something similar?

I had something like that in my 2021 a few months ago. I sprayed that little black arm with some dry lube and within a few days the clicking was gone.

Same. Mine is the passenger front door and is identical. I was going to make it part of the 20k visit
Good afternoon. If you'd like to, go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealer info and we’ll look into your concern. Thanks!

Have the same issue. They replaced the part during the last service visit a few weeks ago. Was significantly worse when I picked it back up. Not just clicking at the end of the motion but throughout the motion. Only driver's door. Mechanic note said "Compared to other vehicles works as intended." Have not had the mental energy to take it back (now out of warranty) and argue.

To me, it sounds like something is loose where the arm connects inside the door.

Hi there. This driver door noise concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Should you need further assistance, please send us a DM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer and I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end. I always planned on taking the car back in to get this checked, like I mentioned above. The Ford social media folks encouraged me to "Send my VIN" though so I figured I'd see what they were going to do.

After asking me a ton of questions, guess what the response was.......

Take it in to get looked at.

Very helpful guys. Talk about a waste of time.

They need to replace the door check. Had to replace mine on the driver's side.

It's not that bad to do yourself if you're outside of the bumper to bumper warranty. You will need to take off the door card and then the door speaker and you can get your arm inside there to unscrew the nuts. DO NOT DROP THE NUTS.

This youtube video process is basically the exact same, other than the step to remove the door card.

That is what they replaced on mine (made it significantly worse).

Hi Ford, is there any progress on offering repairs for this? It's crazy to have an inoperable door at 48,000 miles. Please tell me there is help coming.

My understanding is that it's not the door check itself, but the welds at the door where the door check meets the door. My local dealer said I would need a new door. I've seen videos of people repairing the same problem on Ford Escapes, and it's not the check that they replace. They either redo the welds or replace the whole door.
