Kettleman usually good, but very popular, as I'm writing I see that only 2 available out of 10 :(, but keep in mind EVRange charger that is near motel there.

I personally do not like Lost hill, but right now app shows 4 out 4 working and available.
Panoche Shell another popular spot,.

Enos Lane Bakersfield looks not good only 3 working chargers, 1 down.

in other words you will have to watch at EA app during trip and be ready to adjust. Grapevine usually takes about 20-30% of battery, do not be scared when you will go up, regen during downhill usually put back good number of electrons :)

Stevenson Ranch EA usually sucks - busy or/and broken.

inside LA be ready to have EvGo as alternative since a lot of entitled to EA EVs will stay in line for free juice.
Thanks so much for the info! I have driven my MME over the Sierras many times, so I understand the battery replenishment (not the physics though LOL) that occurs when descending. I can make it back from where I end up in NV with NO charging-210 miles 4500 elev up to 7500, then down to the bay Area. Going there, however, I stop and add about 40-50% charge to prevent anxiety in the mountains.

similar to you I'm trying to have battery about 40-50% SOC before Grapevine, because the traffic there can be brutal. plus some % for heat

Also just bought an adaptor for Tesla SCs. I figure I'd bite the bullet as I've been waiting for Ford to send my free one for about a year. Got the A2Z as you suggested. Thanks!

I always use my Android to find chargers, rarely the Ford's nav system.
Yes Ford nav can have very odd choices for chargers. No way I found to put any parameters on charging. Simple things, don't route me to 50kw charger when 2 blocks away is a 350kw. And pre conditioning may or may not happen.

We will never know if preconditioning even occurs since there is not an indication it’s even on or working.

Really? I usually use the EVgo app, which also shows Chargepoint and I can filter in 350Kw. Has worked well so far. I also have used the EA app but not robustly enough to have an opinion.

Thanks

I see 10 chargers at Electrify America Chalios Mexican Restaurant. 33225 Hubert Way. Currently all operating at .56/kwh. Safe travels. Use Sync to map it and precondition if necessary
I stopped at that Mexican restaurant once in my wife ICE car for the food. I did notice the EA chargers, perfect place to grab a bite and charge. I do worry about traveling around the holidays in an EV. Good Luck and let us know how it goes. I suspect next trip you will have an NACS adapter and will have access to the 100's of chargers along the way. Kettleman City (Supercharger) is where we stop on the way back. Plug in and walk to In and Out. Come back to a car near 100%

I researched Kettleman city and there seem to be quite a few CCS chargers. Thanks!

I apologize to saying this, but try adapter before going to the trip. Install tesla app since it;s the only correct source of data. You can check in ABRP that you have NACS adapter and Tesla chargers will be used for road planning, again Tejon ranch outlet 70+ stalls, but closed when sheriffs close mall (data in Tesla app).... and enjoy EV freedom as much as it could be these days :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning to try it out before leaving for sure. I have both the Tesla app, and the ABRP app. Is there a way to determine for certain if the Tesla charger will work with the adaptor? Have you ever used the Tesla chargers near the Trader Hoes/Marshalls/Mall in Emeryvill off Christie?

Good! I don't know when you leave for your trip, but A2Z is shipping the adapters via Candian Post and aparently it takes a long time. My A2Z adapter shipped yesterday and my A2Z account says that it was shipped via Candian Post and I'll get it on Dec 31, almost 2 weeks from yesterday.

Yeah there is. The Tesla app and Tesla website provide the most update and reliable information on which superchargers you can charge at. Enter your vehicle information into the Tesla app and it will only show you the superchargers that are available to you. On the Tesla website, go to the "find superchargers" section and use the filter to only show superchargers that are open to NACS partners and non-Tesla evs.

The Ford Pass will also show only the superchargers that are available for you to charge at.

Mine was shipped UPS and tracking says it's supposed to arrive tomorrow. I spoke with someone on the A2Z site and told them I needed expedited shipping though.
