I’ve NEVER been able to set up my Paak. So using a passcode isn’t possible. It’s a Catch-22; need to set up Paak first in order to create a passcode. I’m still waiting on Ford to contact me about getting this sent up since the FordPass rep I spent over an hour on the phone with was clearly in over her head and couldn’t figure it out.
Word of advice to any non-tech business, if you‘re going to incorporate tech into your products make sure you have a COMPETENT tech department to help with customer service.
Oh. Good point. That sucks.

I use PAAK all the time. What I did do is buy a faraday key fob holder to keep 1 key fob in the trunk. It is not seen by the car at all if it is in the case. It works great if for some reason the car does not see the phone or if you have to park it in a garage with valet or need last minute service you already have the key in the car. They are only $10 on Amazon. Highly reccomend.
Even easier, take the battery out of the key fob, put battery and key fob in a plastic bag in your glovebox and never worry about the faraday bag not working And you still have the key fob for valet When needed.

I have tried a couple of times to change the code to something I would actually remember, but I was not successful.
I use a program called Evernote for codes, passwords, where I put things, vin numbers, license numbers, invoices, biz cards, anything I want to remember. If I lose my phone I can log into it on any computer anywhere in the world. Its password is the only one I have to remember but I never can. It and some important phone numbers are written on a small paper in each of our wallets. I’ve loved it at least 15 years.

An old 10 digit telephone number that is stuck in your memory can be a useful code. You may want to put the area code in the middle. I think that this is pretty close to a random number. Any mathematicians out there to advise?

LOL I use the VINs of cars I don’t own any more. Those are pretty random. I also use random part numbers for stuff like camshafts, lifters, flywheels. These are numbers that are stuck in my curly brain. ??

Bought a new iphone 15 pro in September (yeah, I know but the 16 wasn't out yet and I changed jobs so had to get it 'now')

anyway, the top of my Ford Pass says 'Make This Phone a Key'

nope, not gonna, always carry the FOB anyway and I can still open doors, remote start, drive etc. And bonus, when I walk away, in less than two parking spaces, the car locks, with PAAK, it was usually 30+ car spaces, get in to a store etc, before the honk, retract would happen.

never looking back, it's still at the top of my phone, but probably next month I'll hit the big ole X and make that go away. Don't feel the need.

This is the culprit on Samsung phones. 100% failure rate post this update.
