Hello All,

I've read about this happening for some others and I have taken it to the dealership within the last week, they stated they "updated" the system but I am still getting the same error message. This happens so randomly at different levels of speed and weather conditions I cannot produce it when given to the dealership for inspection. The last time they said no error codes were given. I don't want to pay the diagnostic fee each time or have to ask them to waive it depending on the advisor. If anyone has a solution or a way to replicated this issue it would be greatly appreciated!

This happens to me on occasion. What year and what version are you on?

This sounds like the front camera is getting obscured, or I think there is some history of a coax cable from the camera to the control unit needing replacement of malfunctioning...

It could also be a misalignment of the front camera., so that it's on the edge of working/not working.

Yeah, definitely check the “easy stuff” first.

Is the camera dirty?

These errors seem to pop up more frequently in the winter if people are driving on dirty/muddy roads.

It's clean as I tend to wipe it, not sure it was just a straight road. It appeared long enough for me to take a pic though.

I tried to tell them the SSM fix but they didn't consider it since it was "not reproduced", I will try again once I get the time I suppose.

Message me the VIN. Not sure if I will be able to see anything helpful, but checking only takes a minute.

My 21 is currently at the dealer waiting on a resolution for this same exact issue. They said they performed the coax cable TSB to no avail, and are now waiting on some replacement part from Ford. I just told them this has been happening repeatedly whenever I hit road bumps, particularly on highways.

They also did a bunch of software updates to bring my BC up to the 1.4 beta, but who knows if they enabled it correctly. Won't be able to verify until that part (whatever it is) is replaced.

The dealer cannot enable BC 1.4, so don't hold your breathe for that.

Does it tend to pop up when your car goes over a bump? That’s a sure sign you’ve got the crimped coaxial problem. There’s a TSB on this.

My '21 MME is currently at the dealership. I've had this issue once before at 40k miles and they fixed it with "replacing the APIM" and updating the software. It came back around 53k miles. They want to do another update to see if that'll fix it, but they are allegedly having difficulty communicating with the car.

Yea but it's very random, Ive sent them the TSB but we will see this time, it is not always a bump literally could be the smallest bump or a big bump. It is hard to replicate.

I am in the same boat and was about to make a service appointment. The car has been in for this before but with BC 1.3 installed the problem is back with a vengeance

This happened today so to make sure nothing was blocked or blurry I washed the car. Washing didn't make any difference.
