Did the security update on my Samsung. PAAK broke. Keeps retrying to connect. Ford, where is the fix.

Well Ben that's the problem. I've been troubleshooting everything to do with Bluetooth, Paak, AA and i can't find a common denominator so I can't say what sub system is causing the issues. It could be a basic communications bug on the Samsung Galaxy, could be handshaking between them, could be version and software updates, might be settings issues, or wireless (although my issue persists with wired connection). Mach E might have nothing to do with it. So PAAK disruption on Android could very well be the same foundational issue. Sorry for the ramble but I'm pissed that i have a beautiful car and can't use AA consistently.

Just to be clear, Android Auto is still working flawlessy...
Just PAAK issues now, and the only issue I've had in the 4 years of running PAAK

Long story short I have been checking software updates for my phone frequently. Today new software update for phone was released. I was able to reset my phone as a key and it works like a charm. I am using a Samsung Fold 6.

So are you running on the January 2025 security update? Can you share the build # for your fold 6?

When you say reset PAAK, did you have to remove PAAK and re-add it on your phone?

Yes I had to remove paak and reset. Check 3 times and has been working. This is after I removed battery from fob in placed in Faraday bag.

Samsung hasn't shown that the January update has been released for any device not on oneui 7 beta, so I'm surprised shaggyrn got it on his fold 6 with oneui 6.1

Samsung has officially introduced One UI 6.1.1, which was launched with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The update will eventually be available for older Galaxy foldables and flagship phones that support Galaxy AI, including the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5

That's not what I was saying. I know OneUI 6.1.1 was released. What I was saying is that the January 2025 update has only been released for OneUI 7 beta devices. Devices still on OneUI 6.1 or 6.1.1 has not gotten the January 2025 update per samsung. Thus I was surprised someone on OneUI 6.1.1 already got the January update.

I have a pixel running Android 15, my PaaK also stopped around the same time as others, last week I reset Paak fully, it was then working fine until this morning. No updates to my phone, app or the car, but it still stopped working again after less than a week.

Years past when this would happen it seemed linked to BT and Low Energy improvements.

That seems odd. There's generally been no problem with Pixels, right?

I have a Pixel 8 Pro, it went from Android 14 to 15 a few weeks ago, and PAAK never missed a beat. Worked every time.

I got a new phone (gravity and my clumsiness didn't mix) damaged my old RAZR 2023+, which was NOT having PaaK issues on Android 14 and the November update.

I have a new phone (RAZR 2024+) which is also Android 14 and on the November update, and it does not work. However, the car was having challenges connecting to the phone via BT for some reason after PaaK was successfully setup, so I may need to reset and start over as I suspect it's a one-off issue with my configuration.

What's frustrating with all of this is that there have been multiple Android BT issues with the MME. I assume the same for the Lightning and other Sync-based vehicles? Historically, BT could be finicky with certain chipsets, and I wonder if Ford picked one that does not play well with others and is more susceptible to slight deviations that result in issues or outright incompatibility? Pure speculation on my part.

I just got accepted to the one UI7 beta.

Will report back in a few minutes with if it works after that upgrade or not.
