MY21 MME Select with 50k miles. Random does not release from multiple different DC fast chargers. Ford dealer replaced charge port under warranty after verifying DTC codes. Car continues to randomly fail to release on multiple chargers. (Manual release under hood required each time.) A new closer Ford dealer states “It is normal and we can’t reproduce any problems”. @Ford Motor Company
The dealer also claimed a TSB was published describing a charger release function by hitting unlock 10 times. They could not reproduce the TSB print out either.

To stop DC charging, make sure the doors are unlocked (open driver's door first), then press the unlock button on the charge port, wait for the white signal, then remove the plug. It seems like you are missing a step? Do not press down on the release latch until you've seen the white lights to indicate the cable is unlocked.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I saw it stated somewhere that all four doors must be unlocked for the DCFC port to release, and that behavior was some recent change within the past several months' updates. I have had my car for 4 years and never had a problem releasing the cable, then in Dec-Jan I had to use the emergency release cable twice. I chalked those events up to subzero temps, but it was before I had seen this "all four doors must be unlocked" requirement and I was traveling alone so it could have been that only my driver door was unlocked. But I haven't DCFC'd since then to test it, so can't confirm.

Has the manual release not worked for you? What could I be doing wrong? 2021 MachE
I am stuck on the charger at home and have tried the manual release but the latch still does not release.
Ford roadside could not assist since I am at home. Dealership does not open until tomorrow morning, but I cannot move the car, since I am attached to the charger.

I believe the manual release is not likely to impact a similar problem that arises during level 2 charging since there is no use of the vehicle’s locking mechanism. Something else is wrong.

Odd to get stuck with an L2 charge connector. Unless yours is different than the Ford mobile EVSE, or the Emporium EVSE.
They don't "lock", although they do latch.

Your charge plug might have melted and welded itself to the charge port. Does the release button on the J1772 latch still press down, or it doesn't move? I would suggest calling for mobile service, or cutting the plug (unplug the EVSE first) and having it towed to the dealer.

The charge port lock is not used for level 2 charging, so you probably have a different problem.

Stuck in a EVConnect DC fast charger last night for over an hour. Tore apart the trim and pulled the release, nothing. Evconnect dispatched a tech, but a long the way I continued to wiggle both up/down and side to side and it eventually popped off. Has there been been a recall in this issue?

Did the DC pins melt and weld themselves together? You might want to get your charge port inspected before you use it again. How to Clean and Inspect Your Charge Port
