We received the oil pump codes early Monday, Spouse was on way to work. Called Ford EV team to schedule service, We were told no e available till march 27, Drive until then they informed us. I was ok no problem you can replace what all gets damaged. We thought WOW !, why would a dealer tell you to do something that could be 1 - catastrophic for the car 2- and dangerous for the spouse ! so we go ahead and make the appt, A day later I call another dealer and they say it is possible to get in in a couple days , so we changed to that dealer. will update when we receive news.

There’s no reason why this shouldn’t be a painless repair, and not all that costly. But I am also wary of dealership’s who feel their service revenue stream is being threatened by EVs (which basically is ALL dealerships selling EVs). My salesman reached out to me 6 months after taking delivery of a brand new Mach-E to bring it in for a ‘service checkup’. My word, I wouldn’t even have considered bringing in a new ICE car that soon. I politely declined, reminding him that he beat the ‘low maintenance’ drum of the Mach-E as part of his sales pitch! He’s a nice kid, just doing his a job I guess. I also got what was obviously a robo-email from that dealership’s service department suggesting it might be time for an oil change!

I did also, had to laugh. Maybe we should have drove in with coupon for free lube service and played with it.

I forget the exact numbers, but when I discovered that my GT's rear oil pump had died (because the car wouldn't go above 87 mph which I discovered while passing), it turns out that the pump had died thousands of miles earlier, yet the motor was just fine.

I'm surprised you got an SVS on the IPC for this issue. What year and model is your MME?

With an oil pump code, the vehicle should be driven straight to the nearest dealer (at as low a speed as practical) and parked. This minimizes damage. Following this advice can mean the difference between just replacing the oil pump, and replacing the entire rear drive unit due to metal shaving contamination. Do not continue driving it until the repair.

Yeah I'm hoping they fixed that too, it should trigger SVS immediately.

I apologize- Our pony is a 2022 (January build received march 22/22) rwd std batt and absolute black. I do have an aftermarket warranty- not using it. still under bumper to bumper- powertrain is 5yr 60k . but still under 36k. Ford did tell me to keep driving, I believe they wanted me to pass 36k .

We picked up our 22 on wed 3/26/25 . Oil pump is installed and all seems good. I am going back i a week when I have some time, The alignment is off a little and I want them to check a cv shaft for being seated all the way- I can see silver where the axle seal used to cover and now its exposed. I know it may be where the tech set the depth of the new seal, but since he will be back under it, better safe than sorry. I also wanted them to fix the coax cable for the front camera faults when going over bumps(I have followed steps and stopped it for a year, but it has returned and since it was there?‍♂, but he said the 2 day old code was not active enough to trigger the repair?.Will keep ya updated. I asked for an oil sample and got a vanilla bottle full of some type of fluid have not opened it yet.
