The Ford Mobile unit is known to be unreliable for day to day use. It would be advisable to obtain a better EVSE. ??

It's just unreliable, it doesn't matter how much you use it. I've barely used mine and have had random error lights/charging slowdowns on 240V.

Get a decent L2 charger and have it hardwired.
I'll agree with the first point, and agree to disagree on the second. If you need the absolutely fastest charge rate possible, then absolutely go hardwired. If you think you might relocate in the next few years or don't need/want the maximum charge rate for various reasons, a plug in is fine if you get an industrial grade 240V outlet. The cheapy ones from the local big box home improvement store have a disturbingly high failure rate.

The Ford Mobile Charger is just that: A Mobile Charger. It’s not intended or built for daily use. We have 2 EV’s. We use the same plug wired Charge Point wall charger for both. It has been flawless over 42 months of use.

When the new plug was put in, you tested the charger while the electrician stood there, right?

I use my mobile charger every day as I don't have a garage nor 240 outlet. The only time I have issues is when water gets in the connection point. It's rare, but in snowy rainy weather water will seep in. Some day I will reinforce the seal...

My previous care was a plugin hybrid fusion. The mobile charger lasted 4 years.

Looks like an overheating problem, as mentioned, mine started doing that after about 2.5 years. Ford replaced it, no charge(check with your dealer) - but I did get a Grizzl-E for daily use.

DId I miss something......

OP said they had to install a new outlet because the old one got fried....
Couldn't that have also fried or broken something inside the charger?? (on top of them already not being reliable in the long run, lol....)

You are correct that there is possible damage done to the EVSE due to whatever event fried the outlet. Evidence from others who have had fried outlets also indicates that wiring has been fried along with the outlet, requiring rewiring. ??

Yeah, to each their own, but if my EVSE were attached to a fried outlet (especially the mobile charger with its spotty reliability history,) I don't think I would keep using it and would just invest in a new, higher quality charger...
