A fair review.

We are all well aware of the:
  1. Noticeable range reduction in cold weather due to a relatively inefficient heating/cooling system
  2. Excessive use of plastic hoses? May or may not pose a long term - 8+ years reliability issue. It does work to date and at least they are mostly accessible.
  3. No exterior mechanical door openers? A known critical fact and a liability.
Other than those points, the car works well, and even he appreciated the rest of its relative attributes.

Seems like the dude misses the Soviet Lada, with its mini-sledge hammer of his youth.

Whining about the electric doors, the fact that “first generation “ wasn’t “as good” as later generations, and his fixation with 1969 mustangs? Oh, and the usual heat pump love (claiming they’re better for people who live in cold climates?! Seriously!)

Eh. I’m guessing the new heat pump and improved coolant system in the 25 add a whopping 0.1 or 0.2 mi/kWh in overall efficiency. And all EVs perform significantly worse at freezing temps, regardless of the stupid heat pump. In fact, a heat pump is essentially useless below a certain temp.

So my verdict: the dude is probably technically correct and I give zero effs. I’m happy I bought my 2021 and I think paying new car pricing for a 2025 with stale battery tech when “the next big thing” may be just a few years away is really, really stupid.

Ok, hose sizes aside, his main issue with Mach-e’s thermal management is that the “giant hoses” waste heat. That’s the least of my concern. Thermal management deficiency we are concerned about is around consistency of power delivery, protection against damage to contractors, and faster charging.

Garbage review.
Damage to contractors should likely be an insurance matter, not a warranty issue... ;-)

Oh, and our ex-Soviet pal was crowing about the price reductions without mentioning the significant feature decontenting ?

I know I've met a few contractors I wouldn't mind running over, but that'd make it a criminal matter!
Just weld them shut. That makes it a warranty issue again.

I can summarize for you: Too much plastic tubing and inefficient heat distribution with loss of heat and cooling efficiency.
Really doesnt come as a surprise that mach-e thermal handling has been a disaster from get go. Both heating (too little heating power) and cooling (contactors).

I watched a few minutes and moved on. Guy is a Toyota and Lexus tech? Yeah, they make the best EV's. ?
