If Tesla can do it, Ford too... I think there being lazy.
The issue is there are many modules which can be updated, and not all model years (or even model variants) need the same updates. I guess they could push "empty" to updates to cars that don't actually have anything to update so things are common to all vehicles....

Seeing some odd behavior after the 10.2.0 update. First thing I noticed was that the car charged to 100% at some point during or after the update (was at 100% when I checked the next morning, target charge had been set to 90% at home location). Today I went on a short drive then plugged in when I got home. Now I see the charge level is at 97%, FordPass shows a status of "starting charger", my home target charge and location are gone, when I try to setup a target location it tells me I need to charge at the location first, the car isn't charging and I don't see any way to force start a charge. Any ideas?

Turn off the charge limits from the infotainment screen.

Then delete all locations and add again.

Set limits from the screen.

Don't use the mobile app.

Thanks, tried that, but it tells me I need to charge before I can set a location/target. But I can charge either, so I'm stuck.

If I only drain the battery a couple percent, it often doesn't want to start the charger. Usually not a big issue as I'll just wait to charge until the next time I come back home and it'll work fine then. This happened before the latest update.

just got the notification for this update on my 2023GTPE but have not seen it yet on the 2024GT.

update failed to install per the mobile app, gotta go look at the car's display and see what it says.

edit: guess it was low 12V SOC. the dialog box said "...because your battery is low". that's not confusing at all for someone not clued in about these cars.

As is par for the course around a month after I see an update on the forums my 2023 GTPE receives the update. Update took around 15 minutes and the vehicle could not be driven during that time.

Some notes of interest I noticed after the update. Of course the radio reset to channel 540 on the AM band but at least it didn't wipe the presets like in the old days and the internal alarm system reset to the default of "Ask on exit" which it always does after an update.

The brake pedal feeling improvement seems to have done very little IMO. It might be a little less "grabby" now but honestly I'm a 1-pedal guy. The only time I use the brakes is every couple of months when I take the vehicle on an old country road, get up to speed, and put it in N to slow down to clean the pads and rotors.

I haven't gotten a chance to test the rest of the updates like the updated SOC and locking feature.

Anyway, release notes for a MY23 GTPE.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if @Mach-Lee has any updates on when the 12V status is supposed to come out in a UI update?

FYI, you’ll probably notice some braking differences, especially when hitting large bumps or slippery patches that trigger ABS. Regen will cut out abruptly and there will be a brief delay before you get regen back. Going down hills in cruise, you may notice abrupt braking when the speed exceeds +1 MPH over set point, followed by abrupt acceleration when cruise resumes forward torque.

If your ABS software is very old, you may notice an improvement in brake pedal feel, as the initial “bite” has been lessened, but that is a year old change or older.

Some older vehicles may notice a slightly improved DC charge curve, with 100+ kW being held to a larger SoC value (~52%).

DC charge port locking will also be included (to prevent adapter theft), so remember to have your fob or unlock the doors before trying to unplug.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if @Mach-Lee has any updates on when the 12V status is supposed to come out in a UI update?
No clue. But there was at least one OTA that mentioned improved 12V battery management, no UI changes however.
