Hey everyone,
I’ve gotten 47K miles so far on the stock tires but I’ll need new ones before winter. I asked my local Costco and they said that they have a set of lift pucks for Tesla but other EVs need to bring their own. I still need to buy a set. From my research, you cannot leave the pucks on long-term, but could I leave them on my car after dropping it off? Would they fall off in between the parking lot and the Costco garage? I’m worried if I give them to the guy at the desk they’ll forget to use them. Any advice would be great.

Also, it looks like the Michelin Cross Climate 2s perform great and have good tread wear. My question is, if my number one priority is improving the ride comfort, are these one of the best tires for that?
Thanks so much!

Much quieter, marginally more efficient with ~3k miles on them.

I have a set of these pucks that live on my Mach E:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PKDX3Z3?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

You can get them in red, too.
I think the specific ones I have are slightly different, but essentially the same. They've been on for years and work great. If you're going to leave them on (and there's really no reason not), just use blue Loctite thread locker on the bolts. (You could use red Loctite, but you can't even be sure if you might need/want to remove them in the future and trust me, getting them off if you used red Loctite is far from trivial.) They aren't designed for the Mach E so there's a bit of fitting (though no modification) required, but once securely on they're good to go.

These are an alternative specifically designed for the Mach E and several here have them: https://a.co/d/c5nDJ7Q

They also sell battery rail warning labels which are a nice addition.

I would not leave my car with a tire monkey. Stay with your vehicle at all times and supervise the install. We don’t want another thread about damage to your vehicle. We have enough of those.

These rubber pucks under the heavy mach e can easily deform. Have to be vary careful with them. I learnt it the hard way. The other day I used it to rotate my tires, I put one in between the jack up point and the floor jack, under the weight it deformed then the Mach e rolled back a bit resulting the jack tilled and Mach e fell, thanks god I haven't taken the wheel off yet, or it would have been much worse, but it bent the edge of the hole on the frame by the jack up point. It also was my fault forgot to set parking brake. Since then I made an inch thick wood pucks, left those rubber pucks far away from my Mach e.

Sorry to hear that! Yeah, preventing the car from rolling is super important and might even have happened with metal pucks, but clearly it’s more likely with rubber ones. I am very happy with my Corvette pucks.

How did you secure them on the frame?

Good Job MoonRiver!
Disclaimer: I do not have a Mache yet. Ford did not make a car, that you can't jack up, to change the tires, without some fancy device. The marks for the jacks positioning are under the car, just like my I-Pace, my 2 BMW X5 plugins and my 2 Ford Focus electrics I have had, I have always used different sizes of wood blocks on the floor jack, to keep from scratching under the car(s).

They come with bars (see red boxed area of photo below) that are designed to hold them in the hole. On the Corvette there are oblong holes that the bars mate with. On the Mach E we have round holes. You use only one of the two bolts that come with each puck and thread it through one of the holes in the puck into one of the holes in the bar, leaving enough slack to get the bar into the hole in the Mach E. You then rotate the bar to overlap as much as possible with the inside of the body adjacent to the hole and tighten the bolt. Is it easy to do? Not exactly. But it's certainly doable and I've not lost any of the pucks...

Love my CC2s in the rain and snow. IMO as good as dedicated snow tires I've had on other cars. Didn't notice any difference in ride quality from stock tires one way or another.

So they clamp on the frame though the hole, that makes sense. One might have to tighten the bolts pretty hard or under the pressure they could become loose.

Yeah, I definitely tightened them hard. This isn't easy because of course the bar wants to spin, so you need to get it tight enough to prevent spinning before you really crank on it. I used Loctite blue on the threads to prevent the bolts from backing off. I've had the car up on a lift a bunch of times are they're still tight. But to your point you definitely want the area to be clean when you do the install so that there isn't grit and crap there that might make the bolts/bars appear to be tight but that would allow for movement when the car is lifted...
