I had a VW Golf hatchback a number of years back and it had a 'lid' for lack of a better term in that cargo area that would lift up with the hatchback, hooking to the sides of the main body on small pegs and to the hatchback liftgate with small string loops.

I just noticed similar attachment points on my 2025 MME, but in looking through Ford's website for accessories and such I can't anything to connect to them anywhere. Is there anything for this or are these just wasted/unused details on the MME?

My 2021 came with it, when I picked up my 2024 my dealer told me that it was no longer included, but before I left, she suddenly found one that she gave to me.

I reached out to my sales rep for the purchase and he said he would get me one if it wasn't under the cargo floor spot. I couldn't find anything so we'll see what happens. I don't mind if I have to order one, just was weird that I couldn't find any listing for one on their accessories pages since it wasn't included with the car.

Never ceases to amaze me how easily the lies and misrepresentations pass their lips... These guys missed their calling - They should've been US Army Recruiters!

Ford ships the cars with the privacy cover under the cargo floor. The dealer is *supposed* to install it as part of dealer prep. Both my 2021 and my 2024 had them installed when I picked them up. ?‍♂?

Technically it’s part of the interior protection package for 2024 and up. So if you didn’t have that option then it’s not supposed to have one. And you are correct that Ford doesn’t sell them as an accessory for some reason.

However, it seems a lot of 2025 GT owners are reporting it came with their car even without the interior protection package. ??‍♂

I had the package too. While they were getting it ready for me, someone probably found it under the cargo cover and she then made it sound like she was "giving" me one.

2024s too, then. Most of the 2024s I know of didn't have the IPP as an option. All of these have the privacy cover. ?‍♂??

Good catch! I did *not* get the IPP on my order. I bought the pony floor mats from Ford but bought the cargo area protectors (seatback and floor) separately, and am generally happy with that choice but didn't notice the 'cargo area cover' was included in the IPP. If my sales guy is able to grab that for me as a quiet freebie, that'd be excellent. If I end up having to pay out of pocket for it, I won't mind since that was my fault to start with.
