The vast majority of chargers around me are Tesla superchargers. Even when I’m traveling longer distances, it seems like it’s easiest/most convenient to find them as opposed to CCS compatible superchargers.

Is it possible to supercharge at them with an adapter (NACS>CCS)? If so, does anyone have any recommendations for any good quality ones?

Thanks in advance! :)

There are a few. A2Z EV and Lectron both manufacture a commercially available Tesla to CCS1 adapter. Tesla itself makes one. Lectron makes one to Ford's specs that is available from Ford. ??

Recommend the Ford supplied adapter (Lectron or Tesla manufactured), or a generic A2Z or Lectron adapter. Don't use a no-name Amazon one. And double check to make sure that the Tesla Superchargers you are planning to use support the adapter. Not all do. Only V3 or V4 locations (250 kW).

You can find compatible superchargers using plugshare, tesla app, or FordPass/public charging. If you want to find V4 superchargers (longer cables, no need to take up two spots) this site is useful.

Definitely go with a higher quality adapter if possible! As mentioned the cheap stuff is risky, mostly just due to them not working when you absolutely need them the most. I got a free one from Rivian when I had my R1T and it's pretty solid! Never did get a chance to test it out at a Supercharger, though.

The first couple of Rivian batches were made by Tesla, just like Ford's first few batches were. ??

I bought a Lectron, which appears to be (I'm not sure) the likely maker of the one Ford sells, but it's available on sale, or was last month, for much less than $200. I tried it with a Tesla Supercharger, and it works "easy peasy" and well. Fast, too. Too bad Ford doesn't give them with the purchase, as I understand they did in 2024.

Do your homework. Not all Superchargers are compatible. I live in SoCal where the largest number of Superchargers exist and, thus, have dozens Tesla Superchargers within 10 miles of my house but none of them are compatible. I have to go to the next city to find a compatible Supercharger.

I bought the A2Z Typhoon Pro and couldn't be more pleased. It's a well-built, quality adapter, comes in a nice case, it's worth the price in my book. It also fits nicely in the front tray under the phone charger.
