I've purchased a NACS AC adapter (for the Tesla "destination" chargers) and a NACS DC adapter (for the superchargers). Are there any other adapters that would be helpful to cover additional public charging infrastructure?

Not in the 4 years I've been traveling. I also bring a heavy duty extension cord to use the Ford Mobile Charger, for example at a relative's home over a multiday stay.

@21st Century Pony has a long list of adapters that he used on his epic coast to coast roadtrip. These included adapters for charging at RV sites. But he was in some fairly remote areas. If you'll be sticking to major corridors, then you've got it pretty well covered. One thing to keep in mind though is that the Ford Mobile Charger is a 32A charger (when plugged into a 240V outlet). Dryer outlets are typically 30A, so you shouldn't use the FMC with those unless you have a 2025 Mach E with the charge rate limit capability. (If you do have a 2025, then if using a dryer outlet be sure to set the charge rate to no more than 24A since you should never charge at more than 80% of the rated amperage of the outlet you're using.)

This is part of why I got a Tesla Mobile Connector - The 2024 and older MMEs are currently not capable of turning down their desire for juice. The Tesla Mobile will de-rate based on the pigtail that is attached to it. Since my former co-worker's duck club had a 10-30R outlet next to his trailer, the Tesla Mobile worked out great with a 10-30P pigtail. ??

I went with the safer approach and bought a J-1772 extension cord.

This is something I hadn't heard of previously. Does a J-1772 extension cord allow you to resolve the problem of taking up 2 spaces when using a Tesla charging location? In other words, can you connect a Tesla charger to a Tesla NACS adapter to a J-1772 extension cord to your Mach-E?

This is a very interesting idea. I already have a Tesla / NACS AC adapter. I could get a Tesla Mobile Connector for roughly $180 USD on eBay. Tesla offers 8 different adapters (listed in the table below) and the Mobile Connector automatically adjusts to reflect the current implied by each adapter. That's brilliant!

Maybe not the right thread….
went on our first “road trip” yesterday. About 500 total. Fully charged before leaving home. Made it to our destination with 32% left which I thought was really good. Destination had a 6k charger which we utilized for the 2 .5 hours we were there. We left with about 50% for home.
I didn’t want to end up in rush hour traffic with <30% so I found an EA 125k charger.
All went good until I went to unplug.
For lack of a better term it didn’t want to release. I hit the button on the car then tried to unplug. Nope. I hit the button again. Nope. Then the lights around the button turned red. My wife who was in the car then told me that it reported a charging fault. I began to panic a little as it refused to unplug. Finally after about 3 mins I finally heard the “mechanical release” sound and it unplugged.

so what did I do wrong? Or does it just take a couple mins to “finish” charging?

I suspect it was an EA 150kW charger, since they don't have 125s to my knowledge.

You did nothing wrong. Hit the button next to the chargeport, wait for it to end, and then push the button on the handle and unplug.
