I noticed that in the HVAC controls the "Heat" function defaults to on/enabled. If I manually set the fan speed to take it out of auto mode, I can turn off "heat" and it stays off. In Auto mode, the "heat" function will always re-enable itself. This happens even with 90+ degree weather and the inside temp set to 70 (system is cooling). So my question is if this creates any extra draw/load on the battery?

As long as the cabin temperature doesn’t drop below the set point, the heater does not engage. 🤔🐩

It would be nice if the UI was a bit more clear on when it was on vs off. ;)

It goes on to reduce humidity in the cabin as needed. I drive in Auto hvac all the time and never notice any change in range etc because the AC is on not the heat.
Correct, the heat button being on doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a range impact. During the summer, it doesn’t really do anything.

Think about it like the thermostat in your house. You have the heat turned on but it's not operating unless the house gets too cold. 😁🐩
