And.... here we go again... I got the car back from the dealer on 1/26/22 and 4 days later, car won't start again early in the morning with about 12F outside temp. The dealer applied software update per Notice 21P22 (per dealer notes). The car had to spend an extra night at the dealership as I...
For now, I plan to return the car to Ford before the 48th month - which means in 42 months - unless the resale value is higher than the residual. Which really means Iāll get another EV from Ford or someone else - Iām hoping that for the price we paid for our MMEs we get to buy something with...
Planning on doing this. I already ordered the Noco Genius 2, altho I am not looking forward to having the frunk lid open with the car parked outs
Interestingly enough - i never got any messages on the FordPass app that my LVB voltage is low... but I'm hoping the trip to the dealer this Tuesday...
June 2021. I don't believe I have and right now it is scheduled for the 2 recalls and the software update on 2/11 - I'm assuming this is the update you're referring to. But I'll ask those to be applied when they look at the car this coming Tuesday. Thanks for that reminder!
yeah I did read that somewhere. IMHO it makes sense so until i get my 240v charger is installed (next month) I'd probably leave it on idle or just run my morning errands. But this is ridiculous tho.
That's why after today's event i decided to have the car towed to the dealer 2 miles away and let them figure things out, maybe even replace the battery.
At any rate, this 2nd issue (first was paint peeling 3 weeks into ownership) reinforces my plan to return the car to Ford on the 48th month...
So my MME's 12V died on Saturday, 1/15 and then again today. I live in PA and external temp is low but never negative. The commonality between the two incidents is that I made a quick ~10 min drive at around 7am when external temp is between 8-18F. Car won't start at 1-2 PM on both days...
Itās free charging at EA since Wednesday afternoon when I noticed it, till tonight still, from Merritt Island, FL to Charlotte, NC. THIS REALLY nice on this holiday weekend!
Update: I took in my MME today to LB Smith Ford in Lemoyne, PA. They were able to get a warranty claim approved for the bumper and a small dot under the window sill of the front door, but I opted to have just the bumper repainted and they will just do a paint touchup on the door. Was told it...
The guy has a point though - the manual does say 40 degree at at least 1 foot distance at an angle (i think) at no more than 2,000 PSI. These are reasonable asks but even with these Iām pretty sure the paint will peel right away underneath the headlight cluster because that was peeling already...
Yep. I'll probably ask them to give me touch up paint - or for them to just do a touch up - on the door area and avoid all the hassle. Still not happy that a brand new car has to go through this...
UPDATE: the second Ford dealer in my area got an approval from Ford to cover the following under warranty:
1. Front bumper where there are evidences of peeling. I was advised that they will take out the entire bumper assembly, sand and repaint the affected areas and then repaint.
2. Driver...
Definitely. This is evident of quality issues that Ford needs to fix in their assembly line AND retroactively for us - rather than acting like this issue does not exist. Ford Paint Issues are real - google F-150 and the new Bronco - it's all over the place. We need to have everyone having paint...
