Range was not so much an issue for me as the ride of the car. I therefore avoided the poor selection of EV tires this time around and went with the Conti extreme contact tires in a little wider tire on the stock premium wheels. The ride is night and day difference though you will lose about 7%...
Hmmm...right now it is 3 degrees here and wind chill down to -30 in some places. Yes this is not normal. Normally North Georgia mountains is around 40's high and 20 lows this time of year. But still lovin our 2021 MAch E Premium AWD.
Hmmm...replaced my tires at 22K miles and kept same stems....no problems. Not sure why you would have to replace the stems on this car and not any other every tire change.
Every brand has lemons in its inventory. Sorry you got one. We have had our Mach-E for 20 months, 25K miles, and no issues other than a rear door rattle that can happen with any car. File your claim under lemon law and be done with it. I personally yhink the Mach E is the best vehicle I have...
We've been driving EV for about 7 years now. First a Leaf, then a Chevy Bolt, now a 21 MME. In all those years have only DCFC around a dozen times and all but one of those was on a trip to Disney World last year from Atlanta. Several of those stops were at EVgo and I agree, the networks can...
Just took our MME back to local dealer for second time for a aggravating left rear door rattle that they cannot figure out. Neither the service writer or the technician who came out to get the car knew how to open the doors. I would not think that working on the door would be EV centric but...
22945 miles. Only real issue so far is aggravating rattle in left rear door that dealer seems unable to resolve....that and the cheap flimsy cover in the rear cargo area.
Not sure I really need to see all that data while driving. One of the things I like about EV is the need not to see all that....Transmission temp, oil temp, coolant temp, RPM etc. GOM range and % remaining is plenty for me. I don't want my dash to look like a spaceship.
For over-the-road rigs the charge times might be a deal killer. But, for local deliveries say in a big city they would be an excellent choice. They could charge them while loading the trailers and at night.
Us "Older Gentlemen" remember what it was like to drive a Big Block V8 and watch the gas gauge go down quickly when flooring it. Now there is just a hum and acceleration.
This is a car, not a fighter jet pulling some serious high G maneuvers. If you are blacking out you need to quit driving and seek some medical attention. Something else is going on with you.
Bouncy ride much improved. These are not rock hard e-tires so they can flex and absorb some of those little bumps. Overall ride is much quieter and very much more sedate with still having good handling on curves etc.
Tires are much quieter, a softer ride (less hard bumps) but still maintain excellent handling even on wet roads. I am much happier with them. If I paid this much for a car wanted a better ride. There is a separate thread on these very tires. Everyone who has gotten them love them.
I went with the Conti 245 extreme contacts and they fit fine, good traction, and I lost about 7% range. More than happy with trade-off as ride is much better.
LOL!!! No, Actually I am going to buy a used golf cart that needs new batteries. I can buy (4) 12v AGM batteries (100 amps each) and put in series or I can buy a 48V Lithium battery that is 100 amps. Price wise going to very close ( about 20% more for lithium) but if the Lithium battery...
Hoping there has to be some battery experts here.....So, does a 48v 100 amp LiFeP battery have the same power (amp hours ) as four 12v 100 amp Lead/Acid batteries in series? OR would you have to put four of the 48V lithium batteries in parallel to get the same number of amp hours available.
