    Pine tar

I have a razor blade scraper that uses plastic blades. Great for use on delicate surfaces. I would use it with a paint friendly solvent like bug & tar remover.

Who is repenting the decision of purchasing a Mach e? I am for sure

My only regret is going got the GT - it has way more performance than I need. I would have been just as happy with a Premium model. Otherwise I have been very pleased with mine. Only had to visit the dealer once to fix an issue with stalled OTA updates.

TSB 24-2062 - Inoperative BlueCruise And Lane Centering After An OTA Update, CMR DTCs

Cruise control shouldnā€™t be used in slippery conditions like rain, snow, and ice. In Alaska Iā€™m sure you get your fair share. I was talking with some other EV owners and we have to use cruise control to keep from speeding. The smoothness and quietness of the car makes it too easy to drive...

Where do you keep your adapters, a poll

Since 99% of my charging is at home I keep my TeslaTap in the frunk. Only used it once just to make sure it worked ok.

    "Greenist" Car in America

They didn't list the metrics they used in determining the scores. Having owned a Prius Prime before we got the MME it was a great car for around town. I often got over 1k miles on a tank (8 gals) of gas. My best was 1,400 miles.

Home generator load shedding with Tesla chargers.

The charger can use most of the power from most home generators - figuring in the 10-15k range. I have two panels, one for the generator feed and one for line power. Car charger is on the line side as I don't expect to need charging when there is an outage. I reserve the generator side for...

    Tire chains / cables recommendations

Car & Driver did a review of tire chain alternatives. What works best depends on what type of snow you expect.

    Charging outside the garage

Same for my wife and me. We wasn't the cards in the garage. Only exception is for temporary needs like when we remodeled our kitchen. The cabinet company used the garage for staging the new cabinets during installation. Another quirk of ours is keeping the garage doors closed. Unless I'm...

    Over-the-top anti EV propaganda piece

Not much heavier than the F-150 (gas), the best selling vehicle in the US. 4700 vs 4650-5020 depending on Mach-E model. A lot lighter than something like the Escalade at 5800. I'm of the opinion that it's not the weight that affects tire wear but our inability to keep our foot off the...

How To Never Miss An OTA Update Again

Last year mine got stuck and didn't preform updates. Took it to the dealer and they did over a dozen updates. Since then it seems to be updating regularly. Had a notice that it was going to do an update that night. Next day it hadn't updated. Made a trip to the store and when I got there it...

    Charging and Powerwalls

A lot of it boils down to how often and how long your outages are. Our solar doesn't have battery storage because the house already had a backup generator. Charger is on the non-generator panel as the generator can't handle the whole house. I have net metering for the solar and no time of use...

Engineering Explained: Summer / all-season / winter tires, and FWD/RWD/AWD

Good presentation. Iā€™ve always been a proponent of winter tires for people in cold snowy climates. As the saying goes, ā€œThe brakes stop the wheels, the tires stop the car.ā€ AWD only helps you go, all cars have 4 wheel brakes.

    Poll: First EV or not?

First BEV. Had two hybrids and a plug-in hybrid before the Mach-E. Considered a Tesla 3 and a VW ID.4 before deciding on the MME.
