The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan)

Been a while since I plugged FDRS in and was surprised to find just OBCC and HVAC on my 21J1. Updated...no dramas P.S: I should add, I'm glad they were small updates because some silly person forgot to actually turn the 50A PSU on, even after hooking it all up :) LVB now on a charge :)

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

So this shall be my final post on this thread, as I seem to be the only person in the world with this issue....but it's good news... Just got back from the dealer who did indeed replace the module above....also known as PACM or AVAS module. (Pedestrian Alert Control Module) NO MORE...

The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan)

Hmmm, there was no GWM for me, even after a clear DTC and network scan....but I am in the UK where we tend to not get cool things....

So another update on this...... Back to the dealers today, and they now think it could be the "Pedestrian Warning Module" itself, so they have ordered in the part. I'm guessing that it's this part: LJ8T-14G113-BB It's coming in from Germany, so have to wait until it's arrival, and then...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

I have a theory, but need someone like @Mach-Lee to give opinion. In this picture, there is a unit with part 19H405B. Looking this up it seems to be the rear view camera module. I have a permant DTC on my VIN for the rear camera, of which the dealer has ordered a replacement camera which...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

Well, I'm very sad. Been to the dealers today who replaced the front pedestrian alert speaker, and whilst returning the car to me....no noise....so I think brilliant. Drove home, parked up...................crackle...crackle.....crackle..... What on earth could this be?! I'm going to get...

The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan)

I also now get a weird error when trying to clear DTC's from the powertrain updates. It comes up with a message about refreshing the tests for SOBDM...e.tc, but refresh does nothing.... I just continued without refresh and cleared...

The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan)

@Mike G So Mike, this might be an interesting one for you to check....You should still have my VIN from a PM earlier I hope. My IPMA fully updated in 32 minutes.......(I use a genuine VCM 3) Let me know if you don't have my VIN, but have a look in FDRS.... I don't have the eye nanny (no BC)...

The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS (Alternative to Forscan)

I've just done all the powertrain updates on mine, and did not get any of them stuck in FDRS. I did the PSCM which is done, and is currently churning through IPMA. I can see it's currently pulling 40A from my supply....Thank goodness I bought a 50A supply :) Just started the IPMA on a VCM 3...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

So I’ve found a dealer who actually would accept an email from me before *requiring the car because we can’t diagnose over email* The email consisted of a video of the noise, with the addition of the part schematic….. I emailed it to a reception lady (after calling ) and she had her EV tech...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

Well, I've fully charged my LVB, which seemed to make a small difference but probably placebo effect to the crackling, so this morning I disconnected the -ve from the LVB and left it for 30 minutes. Immediately connecting the -ve lead to the battery, the crackling starts. I'm 100% convinced...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

No I don’t think that’s it. The battery back-up sounder is an additional alarm system, which sounds a siren if your vehicle battery or the battery back-up sounder is disconnected. When you lock your vehicle the system is armed. I found a video of an F150 of someone disabling it, so I’ll check...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

What’s weird is that part 18808B keeps coming up as a door speaker….but not in that diagram. This is so weird.

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

I would happily try disconnecting it if I knew how to get to it. Don’t really want to remove bumpers, frunk tub etc but if it’s a wheel and arch thing then possibly.

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

Thanks…that diagram is helpful. I honestly don’t believe it’s the DSP. I’ve tried your trick of FM mode, that doesn’t do anything to stop it. It’s 100% coming from 18808B in your diagram….the noise. I think it’s either that or the actual module that controls it. I’ll pop my VIN in to the...

    Pretty Bad Crackling Noise

Does anyone here have access to PTS to find out the location of part LJ8T-19J215-AB If I could find out where it is…or how to get to it…I could replace it myself to find out.
