So after 3 years and 3 months, 90000 miles (Never managed to get near @Teslaeata) my time with the MachE has come to an end. Love this car but my Company car Scheme won't allow for it this time around, and they don't do Tesla, so have had to go with the BMW iX1 and to be honest, I feel like a change after 3 years.

I got a figure to buy the car, based on WBAC is £13755 and that's before the usual deductions, the depreciation is mad, but that's a lot of car for that money.
Wow! Sorry you’re not going to be a ā€˜Stangster n’more!

About Ā£14k is what a Glass’s Guide say mine’s worth as trade-in.

Son, who I gave my 17 plate Outlander to when I bought the MME in 2021 is thinking about taking mine off my hands.

Been looking not very seriously at an Explorer and will look at the Capri at end of year if son wants Stang but looking unlikely.

Couldn’t see myself in a Beemer, I’d never say never but I’d NEVER have a Tesla..

Wifey’s just seen the ad for the new EV Grandland if son takes Stang, the range is better.

If son don’t want Stang I’ll probably keep it as a project.

Take care, DV. Have a good season chasing that team of yours around.

Took Stangy to Shrewsbury on Tuesday, beaten on pens??ā€ā™‚

Maybe a few more away matches to come this season to put a few more miles on the clock.

Well, the stang has now officially gone :(

If anyone wants a great, one owner from new, White AWD SR, with 9500 miles in mint condition, then here it is.
I've been keeping the modues up to date with FDRS since new.

Now that I no longer have the car, I may be tempted to sell my FDRS gear......

I have a genuine Ford VCM3, which is selling on eBay for around £1700......

I don't want the gear... but if you wanted to use your software to enable Silent Mode on my 22 model then I'd be game :)

Or actually, if anyone in the East Midlands fancies doing this for me I'll happily pay for the service. I looked into ForScan and getting a dongle, but emulating Windows on a mac put me off.

Anyone know if / when Blue Cruise might come to my 22 reg car?

I've just driven 1800 miles to the Alps and back and if the car had Blue Cruise I probably would have subbed for a month to give it a go.

Also, the journey was a total breeze. 300kw chargers *everywhere* and overtaking on the autobahns was just a joy. One tiny squeeze of the throttle and the car would be suddenly driving 30km/h faster.

Did I try and find the top speed on the unrestricted German roads? Yes... but I was too scared to go too fast. No idea where it tops out.

Another departure.

My 2022 has now gone.We liked the car, but started to feel a bit big on city streets. Probably last electric car I buy new, going wait 2 years given the brutal depreciation (mg cyberstar are you listening).

If anyone is interested,, have a set of genuine rubber ford floor mats and genuine rubber boot lfor sale.

Please drop me a dm.

Big Thank you to the mach e community

Is really dead simple, use VMWare to take a full image of your windows on a PC, it will then partition your Mac, implant Windows in there, you then have Mac & Windows on one machine that’s more reliable and speedy than any PC.

Been using this setup for 12 years.

I work in tech, so I'm pretty happy to run Parallels, use a VM etc, but I guess what also put me off is that once I've got that, I then need to get a licence for ForScan, read up on how to use it, get an OBD dongle and then actually have the faith that I'm not going to mess it up and brick my rather expensive car.

"So what brings you to Ford today?"

"Well, I borked my car by fiddling with it"

Haha, know what you mean, V embarrassing it would be?

I’d have bought that ForScan in a heartbeat.

I am a forensic vehicle examiner and use professional diagnostic equipment and other equipment to take images of collision data & pre-crash data from event data recorders in cars all the time but just haven’t got the time to dick about doing stuff with ForScan I’d rather leave to the dealer in terms of my own, and hobbying on other people’s cars ?

I did download a version of ForScan once to just reprogram a line in the software in front door modules for the running horse puddle lights I fitted but just couldn’t be arsed to make the connection and do it only because it was for myself so another project on the shelf??ā€ā™‚

The updates never excited me enough to want to take control and do that myself either.

Hope I won’t rue the day I passed up on ProximusAl’s offer ?

New car depreciation in general is pretty brutal!! The good few years we recently had are long gone!

The reduction in the final payment balloon which is now feeding into new higher PCP monthlies will kick the arse out of residuals on these cars, I purchased my Premium AWD ER 15 months ago and it had a balloon of £28500 after 4 years, now same car has a balloon of just £21k after 4 years meaning the monthlies will be £160ish more at around £850 with no deposit.

Similar monthlies can put you in some pretty exciting cars, I know i am comparing apples to oranges but £900 a month gets you into a brand new Lotus Emira no deposit. £770 pm gets a BMW M2 over 4 years

Wow!

I’ve been watching mine depreciate, though with 30,000 miles per year it drops faster than most will.

Bought mine cash outright.

My trade-in according to Glass’s Guide is around the Ā£13k mark.

Trade is how I’d probably sell .

On the upside, I do get paid 50p/mile for using it (plus an hourly rate but that’s for my time) so the depreciation’s just about covered.

Must hurt if you’re privately underwriting the cost for just private use, but then again you’d have the pleasure of using such a great car with an iconic brand all which has to be worth more than money in the bank?

I take a different view surprisingly!

Most personal buyers go down the PCP route so depreciation is already factored in so any future corrections which we are now seeing in balloon payments are irrelevant to a point although anyone hoping to take any money out at the end wont be happy. 0% APR has been common on the MAch E so thats a massive factor to consider. Those who purchased outright are also facing a kick in as what was thought to be the residual value after 2,3,4 years has now taken a pretty nasty % fall. Both buying methods suffer in one way or another although i would argue the outright buyer more so as there is more volatility particulary with 0% deals to be had over 4 years

A mach e costs around (prem/ER/awd) £60k. Over 4 years in a pretty much no risk investment or even savings account £60k will earn circa £15k and in a more adventurous fund such as the S&P 500 you could be looking at £20k-25k+. So buying outright to me as a personal buyer makes zero sense when even savings interest rates exceed the car deals APR (Mach E many deals are 0%) unless its a cost thats offset against corporation tax which as i understand EV's can be in full and thats great if you can do so.

I like the Mach E, for me its a good car, its not a great car but thats clearly just my opinion.

It certainly is a different thing to all men/women however they buy, use and experience.

Just paid Ā£205 for a new 12V battery as my car is 41 months old and all the forum stories of LVB’s borking after 36 months made me nervous. Took 4 weeks to arrive as they were on back-order. Glad I didn’t need one in a hurry! Dealer is fitting on Thursday. Anyone else done this, or am I just being paranoid? @Teslaeata, I’m keen to know whether you have replaced your battery or are considering doing so?

If you’re paranoid, just look behind you ?

Nah, not worried about the 12v, it fails when/if ever it fails, there’s always a lay-by and I have matches and a gallon of petrol in the froot for when/if it fails and strands me?

After measuring HVB SoH @ 92.5% a few thousand miles ago, just took another reading at nearly 96,000 miles and 39 months old and it’s gone up to 94%, that’s inflation for you??ā€ā™‚

Happy daze????
