Yes, should be interesting to see if Ford responds. The ID.4 will be fully unveiled on Friday. While I expect the MME to win from a performance perspective, I’m wondering if the ID.4 will undercut in the price area and offer free charging and force Ford to make a move to keep the MME competitive.
I don’t know if I see this as a limit as much as a deterrent to park and leave because it’s free, and preventing other customers from using charging stations.
I thought this too. However, I read an article with more detail. It won’t begin production in the US until 2022. However, it will be sold in the US before then. They will just manufactured in Europe.
I have something similar on my 2018 Accord and it’s annual fee of about $100.
I think the only thing that could be free is any OTA updates over LTE (unless they make them WiFi only).
Just a few random thoughts here:
- Didn’t they allow for the reservation of 7500 first edition Bronco’s? I wonder if they are upping first edition Mach E’s to that number.
- This is probably partially just a way to drum up additional publicity. If Ford just shipped excess First Editions to...
I would think it would be similar to what they are doing with the new F150 Hybrid. It is mostly for work applications, but has the ability to power outside lights and small equipment. While the MME isn’t purchased for that sort of thing, I think it would be handy to be able to power small things...
I was thinking something similar. I had a reservation for an FE, cancelled it, and switched to a GT. I’m kind of wishing I had kept both since I didn’t know you couldn’t switch between FE, GT, and Premium/Select/Rt. 1.
Great video summarizing a lot of what we know. It honestly makes me super excited and almost second guessing waiting on a GT (I am impatient). It makes me excited for the future of automobiles!
Tesla had a pop up test drive event about 2 hours away from me yesterday (nearest dealer/showroom is about 6 hours away), so I made an appointment to drive a Model Y.
The Y they brought to the event was the Performance model, probably to sell people on the most expensive trim. It was an...
See above a phone, that’s what I was waiting for. Not that most of us don’t carry our phones, but being able to unlock with our watches sounds much easier
Good catch! I just saw the total and it looked off by approx the frunk, so that is what I assumed was missing (teaches me to look a little more carefully next time).
