Just received this letter from Ford advising they will be replacing my HVBJB once parts become available. I’ve not had a failure yet so really pleased they are now being proactive. It’s one thing that worried me about doing any long European journeys.
Bought a 2023 Mustang Mach-E Premium just yesterday, and it was the happiest 100 miles of my life! My whole family loves it.
Drove school carpool this morning and then stopped by a DC fast charger to get some juice, since I don't yet have a faster charger installed at home.
On the way home...
There have been a lot of forum members who have experienced the Stop Safely Now (SSN) or Service Vehicle Soon (SSN) errors while driving, caused by a detected failure of the HVBJB. SSN failures require you to have the car towed, while SVS is a warning that the HVBJB is about to fail, and you...
When I was younger, I used to go to speed shops and enable my muscle cars (and friends muscle cars too) to go way beyond the performance potential of how it came from the factory. While typically it was the installation of new cams, intake manifolds, headers, carbs, pistons, porting and...
I have a premium AWD extended battery Mach-E with a build date of April 2021. It has around 14K miles on it and I drive it somewhat aggressively. I still have my original HVBJB but worry constantly that it could break down and leave me stranded at any moment.
I was thinking that because it’s...
After a quick acceleration last night, I experienced an issue with my Mach-E GTPE which has left me a bit concerned - the High-Voltage Battery warning light activated. I'm not entirely certain, but this could potentially be related to the HVBJB (High-Voltage Battery Junction Box). If that's...
My Mach-E First Edition received the “stop safely now” message and began to lose propulsion as driving. Unfortunately I was in moving traffic in heavy snow here in Michigan. I had to get over to the side and slid while the car was losing propulsion. I hit a curb and a pile of snow while losing...
Well, after reading the information here, I knew it was a matter of time until the HVBJB would fail.
Mine failed driving at 60 mph, flat road, no hard acceleration and 38 degrees.
I was fortunate that it happened near my house, so I was able to make it home. I live near a Ford dealership, so I...
Hi, I have a 22 MME Premium RWD ER that had the SSN, and SVS issues. The first time I brought it in, the dealership rewired a harness in the battery and gave it back to me. The car ran for a week and had the same issue. The second time, the dealership had the car for 20 days and gave me the...
Well, a few days ago on the way to work I got the dreaded wrench pop up...
Phoned the dealer for an appointment and was told today it's the HVBJB.
Dealer is keeping the car until fixed with absolutely no ETA on part delivery and repair.
I've had my Premium AWD SR since November.
I rarely push...
I was out driving today and made a quick stop. When I got back in and tried to turn the car on I got the dreaded “stop safely now” and couldn’t put it in far. Had to have it towed.
So for those who have suffered before me how long does the repair tend to take? Dealer’s closed today so I was...
Hi, I just took delivery of my Premium RWD Extended Range last month (07/30). With only 814 miles on the car, I started to get the dreaded Stop Safely Now! warning and have had issues with my car slowing down and stopping in random places. On Saturday, (08/27), I called Ford Customer Service to...
Alright, this has been on my mind. My car is scheduled to build in October and deliver in November.
how are the new HVBJB parts holding up?
I’d love to break this down along trim and battery lines, but seems a bit much to ask. If you’ve had a post new part failure, maybe share details about...
Considering that contactor failures seem to be predominant issue, I think it might be useful to try and build a rough dataset around this problem to help those that experience this failure understand what they can expect if/when it happens to them.
If you had a HVBJB (contactor) failure, please...
Here I sit at a cracker barrel 95% my way down from NY to SE FL contemplating GTPE ownership once again.
My GTPE had already had the HVBJB replaced after i posted the thread *Bricked* @ BMW i4 M50
That was around 6000 miles. Now at just over 900 miles it's jacked again!
ENTER: TURTLE MODE...
The opinions and emotions about the failures around the High Voltage Battery Junction Box are running high (and it's understandably frustrating for people who have experienced it) and it's difficult to tease out the incident rate and other facts about this. There are also several running...
