We will be moving to a retirement community in the fall. There will be a garage stall for the Mach-e but we will lose a 240 v outlet so our wallbox evse is done. The garage door opener provides a 110v outlet and the slower charging should work fine for us. Our ‘22 came with a portable charger and I plan to use it for charging. Can I count on the unit for long term use or should I buy a different evse? I don’t really see any 110 chargers, but if the ford supplied charger is not good for long term use I will install something else. Suggestions would be appreciated.

I have been using the ford 110/240 portable charger since 12/24 and no issues at all ….yet…..I did get another used barely one for $175 incase mine died….since the original one is warranty til the end of my lease. I have typically always used it on the 240 volt….but have used it a couple of times on 110.….just to see that it worked…BTW do not use an extension cord….mine did not work with a heavy duty cord at all.

The Ford Mobile Charger (FMC) seems to work fine for people when purposed for L1 (110-120V) AC charging. Should your FMC ever give up the ghost, there are a lot of less expensive options out there that you can get to replace it. I use a Tesla Mobile Connector with a name brand Tesla Destination to J1772 adapter for L1 and L2 charging on the road. ??

I have been using my FMC on a 110v, 20A outlet since spring '23, had an orange light once, replugged, it went away and no other problem for all that time. Many newer constructions use 15A, so YMMV.
