Does anyone have data on the life expectancy of the MME's 12V battery?

I've had my MME for about 20 months now. At around 15th month, the "12V battery fault - Service battery soon" message came up once. Dealer said it's probably a glitch since it never came back. I didn't do anything about it and nothing happened. Just today, the same message popped up, but only happened once at startup. Maybe its a glitch again, but I wonder if these 12V batteries have comparable life expectancy as ICE's 12V batteries. My experience with ICE 12V batteries ranges from 3 years to 7 years lifetime.

Thanks for the input.

It is an AGM battery, so significantly longer life expectancy than the average gasoline car’s 12V battery.

Part number is BHAGMH3 if you want to check pricing for OEM replacement ($150 ish).

Assuming it is charged correctly by the vehicle (which hasn’t always been the case for the Mach-E), I’d expect to get seven years plus/minus out of it.

Would like to hear any experience with the AGM batteries in the desert southwest (Arizona). A regular car battery lasts two years tops.

That message means the 12V battery had to be recharged while the car was off. Take a look at my topic decided to that error message for ideas: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/how-to-recondition-service-your-12v-battery.11069/

The 12V battery should last a typical 3-5 year lifespan unless it's being drained excessively.

I have been riding and driving EVs for about 15 years. The only issues that I have had were with the
12 volt battery. The problem is that because of all of the technology involved, they are all ways
in touch with the " Mother Ship ". This is a constant drain on the 12 volt battery. If you happen to go
away for a few days without driving, it may place more draw on it than you realize. Not sure about
more recent models, but earlier EVs might not charge the 12 volt each time it was plugged in. It
should always receive charge while driving, but possibly not each time you plug it in. As mentioned
above, if properly cared for, it should last for many years.

I'm almost completely certain the MME charges the 12V when you charge the vehicle.

On L2 on a 240v outlet it does, L1 charging it does not if I recall

I checked my logs, DC/DC does stay on for both L1 and L2 charging. Once charging finishes it shuts off.
Interesting I thought one of the battery nerds on here said it didn’t

Thanks! Your thread has a lot of useful information! Great write-up! Btw, does it matter or have any difference in meaning if that message (12V battery fault - service battery soon) came up on the dashboard as opposed to the FordPass app? The message showed up on my dash, but not on my app. I think you mentioned FordPass in your topic thread.
