My 2021 Mach E GTPE randomly switches from auto head lights to headlights on. The first couple times I thought maybe my knee hit it or something but the last 2 times I know I didn't hit it.

2nd issue is I've driven 38 years with maybe 1 or 2 windshields broken and now I've had 2 in 30 days on my Mach E. Maybe it's just bad luck but it seems to break really easy.

AWD Select but noticed the headlight thing a few times, I assumed I hit it also, but has happened more then once so guessing a bug. Although with it being an EV I think the lights could stay on a year before draining the battery.

Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed it.

Good deal I thought I was crazy and somehow making it happen.
Nope, it's not you. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it until Ford releases a fix. For now, you just have to keep an eye on it.

Are you saying that the physical headlight switch itself is turning on its own?

I've had my car for 14 months and haven't experienced either of your issues.

I’m not convinced.

Never broken a windshield and broke one in the first 2000 miles (first small rock on the highway to hit it).

Seems super common based on threads here.

Definitely possible these windshields aren’t super durable.

No, it technically turns to “nothing.”

When this happens, lights stay on, door dings when you open it (like you left the headlights on) and nothing is lit up on the headlight switch panel, nor the lights near it.

Looks like this:

Then you turn the switch and it lights up again:

Windshield definitely not durable. Had a chip within 2000 miles also and it was a very light hit barely could hear it.
The head light had same issue. Was off when I walked away and occasionally would look out the window to look at her while working. Next thing you know it’s on. Initially thought someone broke in but no. It’s a bug but haven’t happen for a month now.

The headlight thing has happened to me twice in my 15mos. It’s a thing. Fortunately not very common.

You’re lucky. Mine does it at least once a week. Easy to twist the knob when I hear the familiar door ding sound, but still annoying.
