Has anybody purchased this android box? It supposedly will let you watch YouTube and Netflix on the screen while charging at public chargers. It says it’s for wired CarPlay systems. Is there away to turn off wireless in the Mach E and just us a USB cable to run CarPlay?

I’ve had really great success with one of these (I have an older model. The newer ones are much better.)

You can use CarPlay in the Mach-E wired. You just disable wireless CarPlay on your iPhone.

However, you don’t need to do that to run android boxes in wired CarPlay mode. They work just fine, no setting change required.

I posted a similar question a few months and got some feedback so after getting my GTPE.....I took a stab at this exact box you listed because of great reviews and a Youtuber demonstrating how it works. I was still skeptical but ordered anyway......

Received the unit yesterday and took all but 5 minutes to get it working. PLUG & PLAY thru your USB-C connection and from the box. 2 cables come with it
USB-C to USB-C which is the one you want to use.......It will boot up and the MME will think it's another Carplay Android device....Tap your selection and off you go......It comes with Netflix, Youtube already installed but you can add more Apps like Prime Video, etc......thru the Playstore

Connect it thru Wifi from your home or Hotspot from your phone

Best $300 I have ever spent for an Android Box......The reason is so much more than an Amazon Firestick or other home Android Boxes is bc it's mobile/size of it.......

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Bought the box and when i try to hook it up it trys to connect and then it stops - I hook it up in my Ford Ranger and in 20 seconds its working. Any tips on what im doing wrong?

Here is what I did.....

With MME OFF, connect the Android box to the USB-C, turn MME on but not motor/engine, wait about 1-2 minutes for the UI to recognize the CarPlay device, connect from the phone list to the Android device name, once you are in, you must connect WIFI via Home network or Cell Hotspot......It should work

Let me know if that works or DM me so I can troubleshoot with ya

I had the same issue with the 2021 model (plugged in, but Sync wouldn't connect to the box). Tried to troubleshoot every which way - firmware update, making sure it works by plugging it into a standalone CarPlay head unit, connecting to WiFi, etc etc. Ended up returning it. Not sure what the problem was

Has anyone looked into the security of these devices? I do worry a bit about putting all of my passwords into a device made by a relatively unknown Chinese company

This in particular seems like a bit of a red flag

My new Box came with Netflix preloaded so using my own account is ok with me.....

same issue here tried everything possible even adding a old android phone. I can’t get any android auto to connect. Must be something with android? Don’t know works perfect in my 2021 Ranger Tremor.

That is how I connect to the box by choosing AutoKit-TBox....your pick looks like you are connected to your Pixel?

I added the pixel to see if could get it to connect to android auto. For some reason I can’t connect any Android device to the auto. It will connect with Bluetooth not with usb and give the droid apps. Here is a video showing what it’s doing.

It looks like you are connected right but the MME is somehow not allowing you to get video feed from the Android Box thru Carplay.
If you are really hard set to get it working to verify which is the problem/issue, 1) Buy or return that Box and get a new one
2) Try a different brand
3) If a new Android Box don’t work, it may be something in the MME UI that is blocking it
