Hey, I got an e-mail from a dealer on Thursday like below:

--------

Hi ***,

You have expressed interest in the 2022 all electric Mustang Mach-E!

Today, March 24th and tomorrow, March 25th before 1pm will be your last chance to place an order for a Ford 2022 Mach-E Premium or California Route 1 model before the order banks shut down for the 2022 model year.

--------

Have anyone got this kind of e-mails? I already ordered last December so I wouldn't be worried of mine but I would be lucky if this is true.

You'll find more discussion and speculation on this topic on other threads.
I ordered last December, too, but I only got this email a month after.
It's all adrenaline from here! More like "frustration" than adrenaline.

I’d be concerned that your dealer doesn‘t know what month it is. Either that or they’ve been trying out a DeLorean on their lot.

Does anyone know the actual date that Ford closed the order bank? I believe the dealer I walked into to place a 2nd order may have pulled a slick one. I mainly believe this because I got 3 different stories.
I was in the dealer on Feb. 11 (the supposed last day of being able to place an order). The sales guy asked the manager if they could still get an order in - manager said 'you have 20 min.) Ok, no problem, I knew exactly what I was ordering - took my other dealer 5 min to place it.
After a lot of my sales guy going to his manager (not sure why - we weren't negotiating anything), he came back and asked me to sign the order and give them a $1k deposit. I briefly questioned them about this since it was only $500 online and my other dealer didn't require any deposit. He said that they had to do it so that Ford wouldn't question them about placing a false customer order if someone decided to cancel the order. Ok. Then they told me that my card would not be charged that night b/c they couldn't get the order in until Monday - HUH? you just said we had 20 minutes to get the order in (which we were in that time).
Finally, I spoke to the sales guy I wanted to work with originally and he told me that the person who puts the order through was not in that day (on the last day that orders can be put through???)
The next day I got a call from the sales manager saying that they were not able to get my order in so they never charged my card for the deposit.
Now I'm thinking that they put the order in - and had me sign an 'order' for the car - and plan to keep the order for themselves when the car comes in so they can mark it up.

Everything seemed very fishy and almost dirty. Yes, they also tried to add in the extra dealer things such as window tinting - door protectors, etc which I rebuked.

What do you think?
And does anyone know for sure what the last day Ford accepted orders?

Online orders for the CA-1 and Premium closed last week though the dates thrown around were pushed back several times so they may have thought it was closing sooner at the time. Check the other thread. Dealers probably had a few more days to confirm their orders.

Feb 25. You can still order a Select or a GT at this time. See below statement:

Due to continued strong retail demand for Mustang Mach-E and the desire to prioritize current order holders, new retail orders of the 2022 model year Mustang Mach-E Premium and California Route 1 models ceased on Friday, February 25th. Retail ordering will remain open for other popular models including GT, GT Performance Edition and Select.

23MY Mustang Mach-E ordering information will be available later this year.

Just a quick follow up...
As suspected, the dealer in question (Sarasota Ford) has been calling me this week to give me 'good news'. They have the exact same model as the one I tried to order and they took me through the motions only to tell me the next day that 'the order banks were closed and they were not able to process my order'. I later discovered that the order banks were in fact open for another 2 weeks after. I did receive my original order from Matthews Currie Ford - who I had a great experience with (no last minute funny games- not even the 'required add ons') a few weeks ago. Ironically, the questionable dealer got the same exact car I ordered in exactly the same time frame from when my first order was placed. This confirms my suspicion that the 2nd dealer still placed the order even though they told me it was cancelled. Avoid Sarasota Ford if you live in the area.
