2023-Model Mach-E VIN Specific Bonus Cash Question

OK, this may be a dumb question, but I thought I'd ask anyway:

You may or may not have seen dealers who are offering " 2023-Model Mach-E VIN Specific Bonus Cash" of $5,900 on models they have on the lot. Quite the deal! It expires in early July. Is there any hope that ordered models get this deal when they arrive? My gut tells me "no."

No. That deal is bullcrap I believe. It's simply the MSRP adjustment, that the dealer should have printed a new window sticker for.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

No, I saw the sticker. It's a GT with the new MSRP of $63,995 + extra for Rapid Red and Interior Protection Package + $1500 Delivery = $66,230 - $5,900 = $60,330

It is, 5900 was the price protected amount and vin specific means it has the old window sticker. The online window stickers can update but I bet if you saw it in person they would have the old one on the car and say it’s eligible for 5900 off

Boy, did this get off-track. You ask for confirmation but then don't believe it. I just said I saw the car with my own eyes, with the sticker on it, with the new MSRP ($63,995), not the old one ($69,895), and confirmed the $60,330K price by asking about it! It's even on their website with that price! I checked it on my phone before I left. The math above was theirs, not mine. I was just there looking around on a lark.

Ultimately, my question about it applying to new orders remains.

Which is exactly in line with the price cuts. I bet if you got in the finance room with the manager this would not end up being the 60k you think it would be. They are most likely interpreting it wrong on how it is applied

Obviously I can’t be certain but a new order does not have a VIN number so logic follows that a current VIN number specific discount is not applicable to a new order. Just my thoughts.

It was in Iowa. I was doing campus visits with my son. I don’t remember the dealer name.

So it's possible that the dealer used an old pre-2023 window sticker and then say they are discounting it after the new lower prices in Feb 2023 ??
