What you can do is head over to your local Ford dealer and “preorder” a 2023 model. They won’t give you a price for it but you’ll be required to put down a 1000$ refundable deposit, and you will be ahead of the people waiting for the order banks to open.

Getting in with no fob or phone, that's part of that code, correct? I think I saw/read that, it's an interesting feature.... The breaking is also interesting didn't know that.

I'm not knocking anything until I try it, I'm just hearing others that is also... I mean I spoke to someone that has a M3P and said that the only thing that Tesla has on Ford is the acceleration times Ford cannot match right now... He said everything else Ford is the same or it beats them..

I can see what you mean on to little to late to move the meter for Ford and trying to cram in something prior to the release.
That’s correct. There is a door code that let you into a cabin, and a separate password to start the vehicle up.

I think Tesla’s strongest suit is their powertrain. That is legitimately where they are better than other EV makers.

Their tech is quite good too, but I think there are lots of places where they are no better or even worse than manufacturers.

I think their build quality is their weakest point. The vehicles just don’t seem to fit together as well as other brands, lots of squeaking, odd malfunctions, random trim issues. I have the most familiarity with the Model X as opposed to the other models.

I put down a $1k deposit on a 2023 Premium for my Mom. Got the pre-order sheet and a signed offer to purchase, subject to 2023 pricing. When the order banks open, we will verify any new colour options if there are any, and pull the trigger. Then I can agonize all over again, checking trackers, railcars, you know, the fun stuff.

Hi everyone, I'll be putting my order in for a 2023 Model on Aug 15 (Selling my Tesla M3)

With the Blazer EV hitting hard does anyone believe that Ford might change something up since were looking at 3 years on the market now with the Mach-E or are we possibly looking at standing still with no kind of upgrades of any sort?

Thanks
Mike
Competition is always good. Maybe ford offers things like higher ground clearance, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heat pump, A/C outlet in the front storage area, etc.

Or maybe they just put back the kick-to-open hatch functionality and start delivering vehicles in a more timely manner.

No changes immediately but I would expect Ford to start updating their battery tech to lower costs and upgrade charging speeds.

Battery tech will be changing quickly in the next few years.

IMHO
Fords news recently about lining up battery tech and suppliers as they ramp up production over the next several years implies iron phosphate battery tech may be used on the standard range trims.

The deposit is at the discretion of the dealer. Putting in a "preorder" with a dealer now isn't really ordering anything early. It's just telling them what you want so they can put the order in for you when the order banks open.

Gotcha

yeah the sales person said just go online configure it send it over to them with Ford Plan and they will write it up no money down. So that’s my plan I get up early anyways on that day I’ll be right on getting it configure and sent over

I'm thinking about getting a 2023, but think I may wait for an updated GTPE down the line. Do you think any 2023 would be delivered in 2022?

I cannot guess or think of them coming in 2022, only for the simple reason is production starts Oct 31st that is IF....IF we are lucky

Only thing/light that COULD put a faster build into place is the news that broke about Ford using a different element in the batteries which they are wanting to pump out 600,000 units by end of 2023....

So going to your question "Any 2023 would be delivered in 2022" ...... Maybe?..... If everything lines up for production.... Best bet Spring, that is what the dealer told me. So looking at maybe 7-8 months realistically
