850 hp, widebody, a bunch of performance upgrades…….. and I’ll probably never see one on the road because it starts at $225,000!!

Seriously?? Who is this car for?

If I’ve got $225k to throw at a sports car I’m going with something a lot more exotic.

Especially when you could build this car with aftermarket parts (which is basically what Shelby did) for half the price.

Heck, I’ve got a 6 speed supercharged 800 hp 2011 mustang with upgraded wheels, suspension and brakes, so I definitely like this kinda car but good golly that price. 😳

2 of mine (also have a 69 Mach 1)-

I hope you read up on all the parts and features that the car has because you will never ever duplicate it with after market parts.

I did. And it reads just like a long list of things you can buy and install from a Mustang aftermarket parts catalog……. But you could do it yourself for significantly less money.

But that’s really what Shelby American has become.

“Ford Shelby” builds a new car from the ground up at a reasonable price.

“Shelby American” starts with a base Mustang GT and adds on aftermarket parts but charges a ridiculous price and has a history of over promising and under delivering in the performance department.

Just look at any of the old comparisons of a Ford built GT500 vs a Shelby American Super Snake.

The GT500 is significantly cheaper, has a unique engine and transmission built from the ground up and performs better.

Shelby American is even nice enough to give you the aftermarket parts list if you want to build your own-

The least impressive part is the engine. It’s just a regular 5.0 with a bolt on whipple. You can have a dealer install that (or a Roush stage 3 supercharger) for $15k and still have a full warranty.

Mustang GTD would be a better buy ;) Sure, it's (a lot) more, but you get something VERY special.
That’s my goal someday if a friend in AZ ever parts with his. 😊

Hey guys, it's a Super Snake! They only make a very few. They are purchased by racers. The winner of the transcontinental (illegal) road races often drives a Snake. (I met one at a B&B at breakfast a couple years ago. He sold it to someone in New Zealand for...Just over $225K)

Well there's the Shelby name ADM and the list of aftermarket parts (obviously purschased at full market price plus tariff's, supply chain shortage tax, taxes tax, delivery tax, additional shipping costs, shipping insurance for the shipping costs, tariff tax). The labor to remove the old stock parts, hiring the new labor to remove the parts because the old labor quit to go to Panda Express as a manager. 'Recycling' the old stock parts costs. Hiring 'skilled' labor to install the aftermarket parts, training the skilled labor. Whelping room costs, cuddle blankets and ASMR videos playing to keep the new skilled labor calm. Dealer ADM. Shelby ADM. Dealer ADM again. Sticker costs, reprinting the sticker costs. I'm sure I missed som other value in the whole deal but it's Friday and I'm only 1 double into my thinking exercises.
