Obviously, I don’t travel so I’ve never had to use anything except the local Electrify America just to burn up the free kilowatt they gave me. But if you have the adapter, it is a simple as that it’s just because the plug is different. It shouldn’t prevent the car from charging. I don’t understand why it would prevent it.
Adapter should be working because Tesla enabled all fords. The update should only be unlocking plug and charge, and showing Tesla locations in the nav.

Some people seem to have reported both ways, /shrug. No adapter to test yet personally.

Patience.
No, I’m talking about what he’s talking about with the car not able to charge at a Tesla site. One I don’t think you need the Tesla app to you should just get an adapter that fits for Tesla. It should charge if it doesn’t. It’s your car not a software update is it?

An update is needed for Plug and Charge, but it’s not required for charging.

So the screenshot I’ve put up there. I have the plug-in charge so all I need is the adapter in June to do it correct?

Tested a quick drive, did not get the 1 mph bug when at a stop sign/stand still. Wish Ford would provide these details when providing their consumers an update is provided.
Then what would everyone discuss? ?

You can do P&C right now at Tesla V4 chargers with MagicDock. MagicDock is just a CCS adapter built into the charger. It is hidden in the charger and you press the NACS handle for two seconds to unlock the adapter. Pretty slick integration IMHO.

Without going to a Tesla station I don’t know the difference between the V4 chargers supercharger magic dock I don’t know what any of that is? CCS that’s what the Tesla uses. We use the J2272?

Tesla uses a type of connector called NCS (North America Charging Standard) they will be incorporated in the future Mach E vehicles, big questions here is 1.) did you get the adapter to use @ Tesla stations, and 2.) did you get Tesla update in MachE OTA? Mine still says shipping by June but that is coming close!

This is VaporTrails at a V4 charger.
Ford Mustang Mach-E 24-PU-CLS-CFG Software Update IMG_8084

CCS is what the Mach-e has for DC fast charging . NACS (J3400) is the new name for the normal Tesla charging handle. J1772 is the AC charging spec the Mach-e uses.

Patrick over at @Mach-E VLOG has a great video on it.

There is a shocking amount of misinformation in this thread. I cannot fathom why anyone at Ford would say you need to do anything to get OTAs ... You don't. Also, if you are having issues at ANY DCFC charger, please call the charge manufacturer's support line on the spot so they can get you going.
