I’ll have to play around with it tomorrow, but I think the compass shows on the driver display if you aren’t using CarPlay or AA. Would that match your use case here ?
Aren't using = connected to? phone auto connects to CarPlay, so maybe that's it. It's not a matter of using CarPlay for maps, I know. If that's it, it would suck... will test.

My 2025 has never shown it; however, the manual says it should be there...

Please let us know if you figure it out. 🤪

Didn't work to drive with no phones connected to CarPlay...

I'm always using AA and one-pedal drive.

Someone asked me about it and i couldn’t find it, so I thought it just didn’t have a compass, then I was driving later and saw the N, but now it’s gone again. I always drive in the same mode (Whisper-1PD off, CarPlay always connected) so I don’t know what would be driving the inconsistency. I came here hoping to figure it out haha

Ford is on record in stating that the charge port (I assume that is what you mean by “direct port”) will not change until Gen2 on the Mach-E. It makes zero difference to a lot of us who already own an MME, since a lot of us have investments in both L2 and DC adapters. When they do change the charge port it affects us in that our current adapters are useless and we will need to purchase at a minimum an L2 adapter, and probably a CCS1 DC adapter as well. 🤔🐩
I have an FCCS. I wonder if Ford will come out with a NACS cable that can just replace the existing J-1772 cable? That will be a lot less bother than buying a whole new charge station.

Probably not since there are already J1772 adapters for Tesla cars. 🤷‍♂️🐩

I think it is safe to say we will be in “adapter” mode for quite some time.

Note it is much easier and cost effective to do this with adapters than changing the cable and the connector.

No need to replace the cable or the charger. J1772 to NACS adapters are less than $50. (For some reason cheaper than the other way around).
